Dutchman on Trial

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 09/10/2000

23 year old Dutchman Uriël Trustfull is Lennie Lawrence's latest candidate to partake in a trial for the Mariners in Wednesday's reserve fixture away at Blackpool. Trustfull, who last played for Dutch club Dordrecht 90, appears to have been out of the professional game for just over a year.

Trustfull who can operate either on the right side of defence or midfield, will join fellow trialist Scot Neil Murray in the midweek reserve game at Blackpool. Murray will get his chance of a trial after finally getting clearance from the German FA. The Scot had been due to play in the reserve fixture against Stoke this week, but the necessary papers were not received in time from Germany. Meanwhile Grimsby manager Lennie Lawrence says he is still scouring the continent for more trialists, with up to two further players expected in the next few days.
