Where will Grimsby finish?

Beharall Return on the Cards

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 14/11/2001

LENNIE LAWRENCE has not yet abandoned plans of bringing Newcastle defender David Beharall back to Blundell Park in a season long loan deal. After three successive months on loan with Grimsby, Lawrence believed his plans to secure the central defender until the summer had been given the red card.

However, following a successful meeting with the GTFC board on Monday night to arrange the funding to secure the services of Blackburn's Marlon Broomes for a third month on loan, Lawrence told Radio Humberside that there was a chance Beharall could be returning to Blundell Park.

"The possibility of a year long loan deal is not dead." explained the Town boss. "There may be something there, but at the moment we're just looking to get people out of the treatment room."
