Pouton Swap Rumour

THE local Sunderland newspapers are saying that Grimsby and the Wearside club are about to do a player swop involving Alan Pouton and John Oster.
Sunderland's Peter Reid is a keen admirer of Alan Pouton's all action midfield displays. If the rumour is correct the deal will bring in John Oster plus 1.5m pounds. Considering Towns financial situation if the bid is official I would not expect Town to step in the way of Alan Pouton.
It would be a dream move for Pouton who not long ago was plying his trade at third division York City.
As for John Oster, after selling him originally to Everton his career has turned for the worse and he was involved recently in a pellet gun incident at Sunderland where he shot a team-mate in the eye.
