Question of the Week

Who will win League 2?

Time To Support!

By: Nutwig
Date: 21/01/2003

OK. OK. I'll be first one to admit that the game at home to Millwall was one of the worst for a long while and out of both cup competitions there's not much to cheer about.

With the "Groves Out" campaign gaining momentum, probably the same lot who were the anti-Buckley brigade and the opposition, arguments are arising through the masses of the Mariners' faithful

Well unless we all get behind the team there won't be one to argue about. Remember last season? The increasing attendances, the increased atmosphere, the increased pride amongst the town? UP THE MARINERS the GET bellowed and the Town listened. Yet again we see ourselves in the depths of another relegation battle. The teams below picking up points and no doubt will have more dodgy dealings on the transfer market then Arthur Daley and Del Boy combined. Well Groves, Wilko and Rodger attempt the Houdini act once again, and do you know what? They need your support!

An important date emerges over the horizon. Saturday. Not just the six-pointer against Bradford but the following Saturday and the next and so on. Each Saturday, and the occasional Tuesday, the Mariners will attempt to keep their division one status for another year. But without your support and even worse your criticism how do you expect them to march forward?

So from now til the end of the season, grab you scarf and your cash (or season ticket) and head down to Blundell Park and the pub beforehand (it numbs the pain!) and support the Mariners in every tackle, every shot. Groves proved last season we could do it so why not this year? You don't have to verbally support but don't chastise the bloke doing his damnedest to preserve our status.

UP THE MARINERS!!!
