Special Brew!

IT has been announced that the soon to be launched Supporters Trust has got together with a local brewery to produce a beer - brewed with the aim of bringing in funds to boost the trust's coffers.
The local brewery is Tom Woods, and the trust is hoping that the supporters can help come up with a name for the new beer. Any supporter who thinks they have a name for the beer can send their suggestions to Dave Laister c/o the Grimsby Telegraph at their offices in Cleethorpe Road, Grimsby before next Tuesday.
Obviously for the beer to be successful, it has to be in as many pubs and clubs as possible, and if any landlords or landladies are reading this and would be willing to take the beer on, than they can contact any trust committee member or e-mail their trust web site or phone the trust chairman Dave Otter on 07752 695987.
Even supporters can do their bit to help. It is understandably difficult to cover the whole Cleethorpes/Grimsby in the quest to find prospective new customers, so if any supporter knows of a pub/club that may take the beer, please contact the trust by leaving a message on the web site.
This of course should only be after consultation with the pub/club managers as to whether they are actually able to take the beer as many pubs/clubs in this area are tied to certain breweries and are not allowed to take "guest" beers.
This is a potential big earner for the trust and could, if successful, give the trust a big boost to help it towards its aim of helping the club in its time of need. In the long term it would go a long way to making the trust a great success, which would benefit both the club and the fans for the years to come.
A good example of this comes from Chesterfield FC who used the same idea, and their trust has benefited greatly from this, as the supporters ensured the idea was a success in their area by drinking the local ale.
The trust's first fundraising event takes place this weekend, when on Saturday 22nd February at the Oak Tree Public House a "Race Night" will take place. All are welcome, and the night should kick off around 8pm.
