Question of the Week

Who will win League 2?

Wolves Preview

By: Tony Hamilton
Date: 07/04/2003

GRIMSBY take on Wolves at Blundell Park on Tuesday night, knowing that with the weekend's results going as they did, a win is probably needed if the Mariners are to have a fighting chance of avoiding the drop.

Home > 2002-2003 Season > Previews > Wolves (h)

The Bottom Line

Town need to win as many games as they can or else it will be going down to the wire on the last game of the season against Brighton and Hove Albion. The squad will also be pushed to its limits as the games come thick and fast

The Opposition - Any Good?

The last few seasons Wolves have underachieved, even to their own supporters, and have bourne the brunt of their chairman's words with him investing plenty of money into the Molineaux setup. Looking at their squad having past and present internationals like Paul Ince (left), Dennis Irwin, Colin Cameron, Mark Kennedy, Kenny Miller, Wolves should be higher placed than they are at the moment, but as usual their consistency will let them down when they need it the most.

Players To Watch

TownWolves

Stuart Campbell

Kenny Miller

Stuart is into his second full season for Grimsby Town and is finally finding his form that might put him back into international contention. He was signed from Leicester for £120,000 and is an ex Under-21 international, and might end up as top scorer if he keeps his present scoring run up.

Present Scottish international who has done well under Berti Vogts, and has scored regularly for Wolves this season, having signed from Glasgow Rangers. Miller is living up to the potential that was expected from him when he was playing at Ibrox.

Last Time Out

AN inspired second half performance from Wolves helped them to a convincing 4-1 win over Grimsby Town at Molineux. But it was far from plain sailing for the home side as the visitors took the lead after just two minutes when Steve Kabba scored for Grimsby.
