Boulding Bid Rejected- Cas Leaves- Pouton Signs!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 22/01/2004

GRIMSBY Town have today rejected an undisclosed bid for leading scorer Michael Boulding. Boulding has a clause in his contract that states he must be allowed to speak to clubs who offer above £45,000.

Quick Mick had been linked with a move to Gillingham, but the Kent side signed Wimbledon's Patrick Agyemang to replace the outgoing Paul Shaw.

Dutchman Marcel Cas has today signed an agreement to cancel the remaining 18 months of his contract and will fly back to Holland tomorrow.

Cas has played 19 games since signing for the Mariners last summer, scoring three times.

Marcel will now head back to his former Dutch club Rosenberg, who restart their season on Saturday after a midseason break.

Marcel would like to thank the fans for their support, and he hopes that they will understand that he is leaving because of his family.

"Thanks for your support and all the best to the fans and the players for the future. It's been a short time here but I have enjoyed it," he said.

Alan Pouton has today put pen to paper on a three and a half year contract at Priestfield.

The transfer will net Grimsby £30,000 and Alan is able to play in the FA Cup against Burnley.
