Slade Signs Ramsden

SIMON Ramsden has signed a 12 month contract according to our sources. Ramsden, who is 23, was a Sunderland trainee and got his first chance in the first team during the pre-season tour in 2001/2002.
He was loaned out all last season to Notts County and returned to Sunderland where he was released.
Russell Slade has today convinced him to come to Blundell Park and he signed only a short time ago.

In other news today, Russell Slade has confirmed his interest in former Scottish international striker Gary McSwegan but denies any offer has been made.
Slade told the Grimsby Telegraph; "Gary is a player I worked with at Notts County and he is certainly one on the long list of players I am interested in but there is definitely no truth in reports I have offered him a deal - I don't know where that has come from."
