Australian Defender Gets Town Trial

Grimsby Town have taken an Australian defender on trial. 24 year old John Tambouras alias Tambo was born in Darwin but of Greek parents. Described by the Sydney Morning Herald as a solid, rugged defender who makes no apologies.
According to the South Melbourne Independent Supporters Secretary, Gil Evans, he was a very good young player there but was forced to leave when Australian football was in crisis. (It has never recovered!)
He is now with Football Kingz in New Zealand (remember Jason Batty?)
