Fishy Verdict: 23 year old left back, signed by Russell Slade in the summer of 2005. On his day, Newey can be an excellent player for the Mariners, whose runs from the left back position can cause problems for defences. But for many fans, Newey blows hot and cold too often. Indeed, Graham Rodger dropped Newey from the side following the home defeat of Stockport at the end of September. However, as a relatively young and inexperienced player, the Mariners will hope that the best is to come from Newey.
