Team News: Chester v Grimsby

GRIMSBY head to Chester City looking to end their miserable run of four defeats and no goals away from home this season. With Chester not firing on all cylinders of late it gives another opportunity for the Mariners to lift themselves away from the danger zone.

Worryingly Grimsby have performed poorly this season against teams who themselves are not playing well. Bristol Rovers, Crewe, Macclesfield, Bury and Rochdale have all faced the Mariners with disappointing recent results, but only Macclesfield have failed to beat the Mariners.
As Graham Rodger has no fresh injuries to worry about, the most likely changes to Town's squad will probably be of a tactical nature. John McDermott has been available for the last two matches after coming back from injury, but Rodger has opted for fellow veteran Gary Croft at Right Back ahead of Macca.
Martin McIntosh missed the match on Tuesday with a groin injury, and could be available again for selection in what would be the final game of his loan spell from Huddersfield.
Peter Bore limped out of Tuesday's game with Rochdale at half time but should be fit to face Chester. Rodger elected to play three up front at Spotland, with Bore the third striker alongside Gary Jones and Isaiah Rankin. The Town boss could either stick with the new formation or revert to Town's normal 4-4-2. Young striker Andy Taylor impressed in his second half display at Rochdale and is certain to be involved in some capacity, and could even start against the Blues.
Mark Wright's Chester have doubts over striker Jon Walters (ankle) and midfielder Dean Bennett (back). Wing-back Kevin Sandwith, who has recently returned from a hamstring injury, is back in contention for a starting place in the side to face Town.
