Beat the Bookies: Week 28

LAST weekend Beat the Bookies came within seconds of its biggest win of the season, but missed out thanks to an injury time equaliser by Walsall. However, Hartlepool's win at Swindon ensured a modest profit for the week.

This weekend Grimsby take on Bristol Rovers, in what will be a fascinating match. Last weekend Town emerged from the second worst run in their entire history, to record their biggest win this century. Did something change last week, or was it a fluke? The bookies clearly think something has changed as Town are favourites at 5/4. Rovers, however, who have won 5 out of the last 8, and won twice last season at Blundell Park, look good value at 9/5, although I sincerely hope I am wrong! But the number of chances Boston had last week against us makes my mind up for me.
Elsewhere in League Two Wycombe have not been firing on all cylinders recently, having only won 2 out of 10 games and slipped down to 7th. Their opponents Notts County have much better recent form but are ranked 3/1 to record an away win.
Peterborough take on Wrexham at home in a battle between two out of form clubs. However, Posh's season is virtually over on 39 points, but Wrexham are fighting for the lives in a relegation place and have everything to play for. The Red Dragons are 10/3 with Corals to record a valuable away win.
