Grimsby is often thought of in derogatory terms, as the last place anyone would want to visit. Is it that true? Rarely do we get a mention in the national press but when we do it is normally accompanied by the immortal words:
"No disrespect to the likes of Grimsby..."
How many time do we hear that famous quip from managers, chairmen, players and, occasionally, fans?
The only time I heard anything remotely positive in recent days was when Blackburn chairman Jack Walker was reminded that rather than playing the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool, the fallen Rovers would have to visit teams like Grimsby.
His instant response was "there's nothing wrong with Grimsby - they have nice fish and chips".
It was worth a try eh?
