Question of the Week

Who will go down?

December Player of the Month Winner

By: Tony Hamilton
Date: 20/01/2003

HERE are the December Player of the Month votes for the Town players you nominated for the award, and here’s how the votes were cast during our recent Question of the Week poll.

Home > 2002-2003 Season > Player of the Month > December

Danny Coyne7
Simon Ford9
Steve Livingstone2
John Oster169
Georges Santos24
Iain Ward6

So for the second month running John Oster has won the most votes cast by you the Fishy readers. As we all know John was called back to Sunderland due to an injury crisis at the Stadium of Light and will be missed as he added another dimension to the way Grimsby Town played, as well as scoring on a regular basis, during his loan period.

To be quite honest it’s a pity Town haven't got a player who could fulfil the role that Oster made his own, although that may be wishful thinking as there are not many players like John Oster willing to come to Town!

Anyway Danny Coyne has had a up and down season due to not having a settled defence in front of him, and with Simon Ford coming into the first team squad hopefully Simon will get more experience under his belt.

Well what can we say about Livvo he has plenty of injuries and with his contract being up hopefully he'll stay and will help the young lads come forward. Big Georges is a loss at the moment because where ever he plays he'll give 100% and also be unpredictable. Last but not least there’s Wardy, a good prospect for the future, but only if we play him in his proper position and boost his confidence that way.
