Where will Grimsby be next season?

Aidan Davison Fans Piece

A fan's view of former Grimsby Town player Aidan Davison, who looks back at his time at Blundelll Park and how he was perceived by the fans during that time.

Fans Piece
Arguably Davison made his name at Town. He certainly proved his worth during his time here, being one of the most used and most consistent performers in the starting eleven.

I would say his best moment came in his best game. Although it probably wasn't his best game statistically, in terms of importance it was. The game I am talking about is the Auto Windscreen Final against Bournemouth. It was a massive game for both teams and Davison proved what he had done the previous 60 games or so in the mammoth season was no fluke.

The best moment came near the end when the teams were close and it seemed nothing could separate them. The only thing that could would have been a freak of nature and that's what could have happened. Little did Davison know but his most important moment of the game would be when saving one of his own players' necks. A whipped in cross from the right by a Bournemouth player headed towards a crowded box when Burnett inadvertently flicked on the cross towards goal. Davison pulled out all the stops and made a point blank save to keep Town in the game. A great relief and moment for me personally! Town of course went on to win the game and brought celebrations never seen before in a now destroyed Wembley stadium.

As for what he brought to the team, he brought peace of mind to the fans that he was a great keeper and would always give 100%.
