Grimsby 0 Leyton Orient 1

GRIMSBY were once again beaten at home by one of their fellow League Two pacesetters Leyton Orient as Town struggled to break down a solid Orient side. A disputed goal from Craig Easton just before half time was the difference between the two sides, and saw Orient leapfrog Town at the top.
Town started with the same side that beat Cheltenham 3-0 away last weekend. Grimsby looked at their most dangerous from set pieces, with the Londoners creating the better chances from open play.
But it was Town who went closest on 13 minutes when a mistake by the Orient 'keeper led to chances for Whittle and Reddy, which the Mariners failed to capitalise on.
It was however the Londoners who went controversially ahead after a perfect cross to Craig Easton was headed down past a helpless Mildenhall. This despite the fact that the ball looked to have gone out earlier in play but was ignored by the linesman.
In the second half Steve Mildenhall three time denied former Hull striker Gary Alexander with top class saves.
At the other end Gritton tried to lob the Orient 'keeper when he was put through by Reddy but could only send the ball wide of the goal.
The defeat sees Grimsby slip down to third position in the table, with their next league game being a tough trip to Jason Crowe's much-fancied Northampton. Before then there is the slight matter of the Carling Cup tie against Newcastle of course.
