WITH the new season almost upon us, it's time to cast an eye upon the teams in League Two for 2006-2007. Richard Hubbert turns his attention to Macclesfield.

Key PlayerMartin Bullock. With lots of young players in the Macclesfield side this season, Brian Horton will look to old heads like Bullock to perform on a consistent basis. Bullock was one of Macclesfield's stars in a disappointing 2005/06 campaign. He barely missed a game and netted 8 goals. The onus will be on the ex Barnsley man to do the same once again.
StrengthsThe Silkmen have the wily Brian Horton as their manager. The ex Manchester City boss has worked wonders for them in this league. He has bought a lot of young players in the summer, but his coaching abilities could just turn them into excellent League Two players.
WeaknessesMacc have lost a lot of players in the past 12 months - many of them with bags of experience. The purse strings at the Moss Rose have tightened again and if these new young players don't hack it, then it's hard to predict anything other than a struggle.
Prediction23rd. Even under the stewardship of Horton, this season could be just too much for Macclesfield.

Next Team: Mansfield
