Two good friends of mine, Simon North and Dan Holland have arranged a Sportmens Evening with part of the proceeds on the night being donated to Brain Tumour UK. If anyone is interested then please get in touch with Simon or Dan on the numbers listed below.

Thanks.

Everyone is invited to Tap & Spile football club 1st Sportsmans Dinner at the Beachcomber. We are pleased to announce that Neil 'Razor' Ruddock has accepted our invitation to be guest speaker at this inaugural event.

The event is hosted by Tap & Spile FC in conjunction with Brain Tumour UK. On the 22nd of July 2010 Neil will be joined by top comedian Jamie Sutherland to make a great night raising money for charity, food is also included in the price along with great local band Decoy playing a couple of sets on the night. Neil was a no nonsense Centre Half and was always a fans favourite during his time at Millwall, Southampton, Spurs, Liverpool and England amongst others. Since hanging his boots up Razor has been a regular on TV on shows such as "I'm a Celebrity" and Soccer AM.

Tickets are for sale in Tables of 10 at £250, some tables will be reserved for smaller groups and are £25 each individual ticket. There are also a limited number of Sponsorship opportunities which will allow guests to 'Meet and Greet' the man himself in a special VIP area. Also aswell as adverts in the evenings programme and regular thanks on the evening along with chance to have photo's aswell. To sponsor the event a table of 10 will cost £350. Tickets are now on sale and main Sponsors are required at this moment but limited left available.

Also there will be a raffle and auction on the evening. Dress code is Lounge Suit for the men and evening wear for the ladies.

For all enquiries please call Dan Holland 07833 451155 or Simon North 07716 307212. Tickets will sell fast so buy early to avoid missing out.

I'm looking forward to it. Apparently he won an award for being one of the best after-dinner speakers last year.

Below is a you tube clip of the stand-up comedian on the night Jamie Sutherland.

saw him earlier this year in pelaw.  here's a little piece of the act:

"My goal against man utd was voted best headed PL goal ever....black bastards....jason macateer - he's a thick twat...he locked us out of his car once....err...black twats....umm...did I tell you my goal against man utd was voted best ever PL headed goal....ummm...errr.....black girl privates...uh hurr hurrrr"

at one point a guy stormed the stage, grabbed his mic and took him on about what a racist prick he was being.  It only cost me a tenner and the fact that most of that went into that ignorant fuckwit's pocket was only marginally less funny than the man himself.

do yourselves a favour and give the money straight to charity.

nothing against charity nights, but I've got a lot against that 'funny' bloke.

ps -when i said 'a little piece of the act' what I actually meant to say was 'entire act'.

Strange that he was voted one of the best after dinner speakers last year then.

I've also spoken to 3 people who have seen him before and all have said he is excellent. Don't you think that people should be allowed to make up their own minds instead of trying to sabotage an evening for a very good cause.

Not a bitter Man U fan are you?

no, not a man utd fan.  Town fan through and through and I don't know where bitterness comes into it.

absolutely, let people make their own minds up.

my intention wasn't to sabotage what's obviously intended to be for a good cause.  I was just giving another side of the coin.  There are plenty of people who won't appreciate that kind of thing, me for one along with many in the room when I was there.

If it sells out and you make a whole pile of cash, then great.  Congratulations to you and I hope you have a great time.

I've been to a few sportsman's dinners and you expect some things to be close to the bone but that night went way beyond and I wish I'd known before hand.  Maybe a couple of others might appreciate a different perspective, too.

Again, good luck and enjoy yourselves.
