Just arrived at game, filling up nicely, looks like big mac may be on bench.

Yes, he sounds rather frail even on the radio but what a player. Pearson, BigMac and Doig all rolled into one was Chris.

Cook not in the squad but not injured as seen training on the pitch pre-match, so that's an odd one for me.

Glad we're going in with Rodman & Neilson. I feared he might go a bit more narrow and defensive by playing one of our centre mids wide on one side. Get in to 'em!

GOAL! Calamitous defending by Town gifts Luton an equaliser. Hatton clears straight to Robinson 6 yards out & he's left with a tap in 1-1

Dear oh Dear i know this hindsight, but Hatton is leaving at the end of the season wouldn't it be better to play walker?  can he play right back.

It seems like we have a problem with concentration after key "match events": either ends of halves, after a goal or break in play.  I wonder if PH has a specific drill for when one of these events occurs, so that we can regroup and lock play down for ten minutes or so?  This could be dropping a midfielder back to shield the defence, a striker into midfield or just a plain-old concentration and focus?

I think you're right Teestogreen, we should probably just have no plan in place for after restarts and let everyone go haring after the ball as they please until their adrenaline levels come back down!

Having said that, sounds like a good game so far!

The usual story, undone by a team that's not great but just more organised than us. More headlines of 'We should have had something from the game' but just tired of hearing it now. Chuck Tonka on, someone to run at them.

Well that's a big if.... We get into the play offs, it is getting contested in the table for the play off positions, we have easier games head of us, let's hope we can profit from them instead of wasting them like we have several others recently. I have a sneaky suspicion Alfreton or Nuneaton will sneak up instead of the more fancied Cambridge or us.

This shows more than ever that we dont score! Because we dont create; and when we do we do not score

At least we tried to pass it around and as a result put the opposition under pressure for periods of time, but again its not so much the strikers missing a load but a lack of clear opportunities created either from our inability to play the final ball, or lack of movement/anticipation of the strikers.

Seems like there was some good play in there, but also that we need to create far more chances than others in order to score, which is difficult enough with only one striker playing.  How about picking two of them (NOT including LJL; he isn't a striker) and giving them a proper run?  Too much chopping and changing so pairs of strikers aren't able to build up an understanding.

Paul deserves this defeat for ignoring the reasons why we won the last home game. Numpty!.

Braintree and Gateshead back in the running, along with a few other teams - all with lesser infrastructure but with better management

I wasn't there tonight for reasons i w'ont bore you with, but listened to the commentary, sounded like a game
effort from Town, but once again tactically out thought from a team not special, but organised and knew their
jobs, we, on the orher hand are one positive midfielder away from being a decent side, but until we address
this we are going to fall short IMO.
I loved Buckley's sides  (apart from Buckley 3, which i was dead against) but i listened to this bloke on the
radio tonight and realised what knowledge this guy has,  he has forgotten more than our current coaching
staff have ever known and if he was prepared to help Hurst as an ASSISTANT,he should be there now, helping
us over the line to the play offs  and not commentating on Radio Hull and i can tell you i NEVER  thought
i would be saying that!

Getting sick of watching the selected 11 bottlers throwing the game away, slow, boring non penetrative football  with 10 outfield players scared to shoot.
Better in possession than of late but no clue how to unlock or get behind a defence.

The movement of lutons forwards was a pleasure to watch, and our movement was nowhere near good enough.

I hope ph was watching with a beady eye

But it was Kerr who copulated up!!!!!

Luton knew how to nick a win, Town play pretty football in parts but we just don't have that killer blow to kill teams off, Aswad and Neilson played well and a couple of spectacular saves by Mckeown too.

We scored enough goals to win the match. Its just a shame we couldn't defend.
This league really is poor. It seems noticeably worse than other seasons. I don't buy all this talk by ph that most games are difficult. Luton aren't particularly great either

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

With respect, we scored 1 and that is unlikely to be enough against a side
running away with  the league, score 1 you go for the jugular and score 2, we d'ont
do this, we just crawl into our shell and try to defend the lead and as i have posted
numerous times IMO  this is because ALL of our coaching staff our defenders, with
negative defenders thoughts, we have to be more positive, or this season will just
fritter away IMHO.

We did not go into any shell, we kept going forward,  just not clever enough to break them down, in fact we probably have drawn them out a bit to create some space.

OK point taken, probably didn't phrase that right, but can you honestly say you feel
confident of a win when we go 1 up?  sadly I d'ont.

it was taken from the mariners wall Chris, and JT didn't even mention a blunder just a pass that no one attempted to deal with.  Frustrating but we go again on Saturday.

Really?

Yes really.
It was a piece of urine for them tonight

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Before Christmas I used to feel quite optimistic about us getting a win when we went 1 down!  I don't know what has changed since then and why.

For the majority of the season we hadnt dropped a point from a winning position. That has changed over the last few weeks though

To be fair Meza, having watched the highlights, Hatton scuffs a clearance and then Kerr just dallies and passes to their player. Both carry some blame
