The way this season is playing out is worryingly reminiscent of last season. Luton are Mansfield, Cambridge are Kidderminster and Halifax are Newport.

Town, after a blistering pre-Christmas, fade away afterwards and crawl into the play-offs and finish 4th. Then lose in the play-off semi finals to the team with the momentum (Halifax/Newport), who then go on to get promoted. Oh no!

I've long argued that Town don't have the firepower to win the play offs and nothing i've seen recently has changed that view.

We might of had the firepower if we had kept to the same two up front were possible but the manager knows best I think.      UTM

The problem is, the "manager" still does not know his best two strikers.

Sorry, its not the strikers that are the problem, its the midfield.  They (strikers)  have had very meager pickings since Christmas,  and this situation would have been picked up by a half decent manager and worked on or sorted out long before now

You need some experienced players to get out of this (or any!) league.

I see the problem is that the bulk of our experience is concentrated in centre midfield
(Disley & Kerr) when probably an experienced striker would have already seen us
in the play-offs.

Maybe even Jack Lester - playing alongside the Shop - would have given us the steadiness
in front of goal that we've clearly lacked this season. Given solely as an example of an
experienced and reliable striker.

Look at it another way: whether we go up or not who would you keep out of our 'strikeforce'
next season? If all were out of contract I'd keep the Shop and maybe Southwell and then look
elsewhere. Halifax found themselves a good 'un.

We must stop being negative (some call it honest & realistic) face that because we're excrement now doesn't matter because we'll be world beaters and a totally different side in the play-offs. We should also sit and accept the fact we're paying £16 a pop for the most negative football we've seen in years.

And if you don't agree with that YOUR the one that is clueless....
