Wasn't it some sort of parachute payment or something random? I may be making this up though

Yes, seem to remember  they reneged (allegedly) on the parachute payment we should have received from them when we were relegated from the Championship and they went up to the Premiership in the same season, think it was a gentlemens agreement between clubs - if i remember rightly Leicester and Wolves were  the other promoted teams, who paid up and they didn't.

Thats the reason i personally wanted Pompey to be relegated into the conference
last season , they had seasons in the Prem, FA cup winners and finalists and European
games, yet as far as i know they never paid that parachute payment, which was only
about 3 weeks wages for some of their Prem players, the  backtracking scumbags.

What does pay up Pompey have on the FA, any other club of similar size would have been hung drawn, quartered and then fed to the pigs.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Jesus’ disciple Peter, picked up a fish to get the tribute money from it, Jesus left his thumb print on the fish, bless'ed is the Haddock.

That article is more than 10 years old. They could have paid up. Doubt it though.

If they had paid us I am sure we would have been told or seen it in our accounts sometime or other.

Them and Blackburn are the only two clubs I really dislike because of their cheating ways.

And if you don't know what Blackburn and others in 'The Lancaster Ring' did to us, shame on you!

May be Bournemouth could pass on some of the cash they've made this summer to businesses that went bust with money wiring from them too.

Sadly with Portsmouth they still don't seem to have learnt their lesson. They showed on soccer am last year. They still ridiculously fancy buses for away games, over night stops most away games, booking out conference facilities for pre match meetings and the like and no doubt still paying average players good salaries.

These clubs will never learn. When Portsmouth were in the excrement in the prima donna league they should've been wound up and shut but instead they were bailed out, relegated and then no longer the problem of the franchise league.

Hardly exclusive to the 'Prima Donna League' that; how many Football League clubs have been wound up in the last 20 years?
