Just not good enough, got lucky in the first few mins when we got a soft own goal and Gateshead crumbled with their debut keeper. A team of 11 year olds could have beaten Gateshead today. We aren't creative enough, not positive enough. 6-1, what a crock of shite. Hurst should be run out of Town, the club, and the county.

Had it with these negative tatics.

Absolutely digraceful, Any manager who allows his team to score 6 away from home should be sacked.

Biggest ever win since Hurst came to the club. Got to bring in Gary Mills as a replacement, this won't do at all.

Well done PH and the lads for a great result. Now for a splash of cold water! Why oh why didn't PH play Toto at RB and Magnay at LB against Dover when he knew they could play those roles? Whatever he says the formation we played against Dover didn't look comfortable especially when Boyce was pulled to the left. It's all history now BUT I wish he would have a bit more faith in being a tad more adventurous.

That's all we ask as supporters. Go out positively and win and keep winning. Not much to ask is it? Sometimes you need a bit of luck to start things off and we made the most of ours today. More of the same on Monday please.

Could not agree more, as a critic of PH I am delighted with the result and if he proves us doubters wrong I am sure none of us will complain. Historically, we have always performed better against the league's better sides, what we need to do is dominate the lesser sides who come to BP and sit back. Still tonight is for celebration not arguing over how we might perform next time out.

Hurst just needs to find a way of consistently playing a formation which frees up our attacking talent to show their skills
Defence is best in league IMO
Midfield looks better this season and we have a good mix of styles
Nothing to worry about in those two depts

Get Pittman, Neillson, Mackreth, Arnold (when fit) flying and we will go close to automatic IMO

1-0 win v Alfreton is all we need Monday... same three points

Give it ten games everyone. Just as 3 poor performances don't hail for his sacking neither does a great performance confirm we're going to be heading for the league title or play offs.

Lets hope it last longer than Woods brief flurry of goals, 7-2 H to Mansfield followed by 6-1 win at Histon,

I am sure it will.

I'm not silent, I'm over the moon. All Town fans will be.

I'm critical if the club isn't doing as well as it should, but I am ecstatic when we are.

Isn't that kind of the point? Or should I always be as happy if we win or lose???!

I would imagine all the so called "antis" love the club just as much as the "fors"

However, it is very noticeable how quiet it is on the forum tonight. Our biggest away victory for yonks against tough opposition but few posts because there is nothing to moan about!

Good to see the goals coming to players who needed to make an impression, with LJL and Disley taking a lot of criticism recently. Neilson showed just what we have been missing with him out of the team during the first 3 matches. Hopefully that will spur him on this season because I've always thought he is a player who should score more goals, but he just doesn't shoot often enough! With a couple of early goals, he may take a pop at goal more often than last season which I think could pay dividends.

I can't remember who it actually was but after the Nuneaton game someone said that John Fenty should sack Paul Hurst and drive up the A1 and offer Gary Mills whatever he wanted to come here.

Good post feel exactly the same.
Great result well done to all.
Will be there Monday to see the lads as always and hope to see more of the same

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.
