Newton has been released by the gimps, would anyone want him here?

Personally, I think he's a class player.

No!

If he's not good enough for them, definitely not good enough for us.

Reading what they say about him, good going forward, catches the eye, but not that good at defending, goes AWOL at times.

Hurst has shown us time & time again, he has a good eye for picking up good players.

Leave it to the experts.

They didn't offer him a contract because he was wanting to wait for better offers same as tomlinson

In fairness, there could be a number of reasons he didn't sign a new contract. I agree about the Hurst comment though, we will just have to wait and see.

Are we going to get a thread like this when every player gets released? One focus at the moment and that is getting back to the football league.

Thought the point of a forum was to provide an opportunity for thought, debate and argument. Not an unreasonable topic on a decent player in an area we need to strengthen next season. Still we can all sit here doodling til a week Monday or lets discuss if another ticket has been sold

I'd sign him for his set piece delivery alone!

Paul Futcher not good enough for Halifax, Mendonca for Sheff Utd etc etc you cannot always judge a how a player will perform for your club solely on performances for another. How many signings have we cheered based on the matches v town only to be disappointed. Not telling Hurst who to buy just killing time with some discussion on a few player options.

He's always impressed me everytime i have seen him play and looked more solid then Aswad Thomas in games against us. We could do with signing a LB so Carl Magnay can play RB we could keep Robertson aswell and rotate Newton and Robertson then we would be more solid keeping Magnay to RB.

And we also need player with a consistent set piece.
