Jones had a much bigger budget and the whole of London area to pick up players from. Whether he could do the same around these parts is unknown, but every manager is an unknown when they get the gig.

Watching and listening to Jones interviews in his last months at Stoke showed a man on the edge of breakdown. The poor fellow needs a lengthy period of rest and recuperation before he enters the mad world of football management again. When he does return a coaching role behind the main man might be a better option than being an actual manager.

As mentioned earlier nearly every manager has a failure on their cv somewhere, there's probably only Fergie and Wenger, who was not achieving much in his last couple of seasons, who could be classed as successful, even Mourinho had ex number of sackings to his name. So basically every club looking for a new manager from the premiership down to our level are going to appoint a failure.
On that basis I hope the current 3 amigos make a success of the next 3/4 games and get the job full time, thus saving us having to payout any compensation.

Think if Anthony gets a good result in next three games he will be given a shot until January at least.
There is probably some sounding out going on at the moment externally but unless someone outstanding emerges we might as well give it a go with the interim management team .

If we screw up next three we will need some quick stability from outside.

I remember when Rob Scott went... I think most of us presumed that Paul Hurst would follow, especially as we drew 0-0 at home and then lost 4-0 at Halifax on the Tuesday.

I know it was slightly different, as they were joint managers, while MJ and ML were the more traditional manager and assistant, but as long as we don't lose the next two or three league games in a row I can see us biding our time and giving ML the chance to lead us until Jan.
