Great to see Ohman on the bench, I was beginning to be concerned that either his 'illness' was something serious or Limbrick simply didn't fancy him (I'd rather he was playing, I think him and Pollock should be the first choice pairing - hopefully Holloway will agree!)

We’ve been very steady with a pairing of Davis and Waterfall lately, both were excellent on NYD. Whilst Pollock has potential I don’t think we’ve seen enough yet to say he can consistently be better than either of the first choice 2. Ohman is usually either suspended or injured and we can’t get a settled back 4 with him in it.

be interesting to see if Macca retains the captains armband under Ollie. I have always though that you need your captain further up the field.

Holloway's only had one training session (yesterday) with the squad so I'm not expecting a miraculous transformation today.

With the limited time on the training pitch (well, Blundell Park yesterday wasn't it), the impact he'll have on today will come mainly from inspiration and motivation. With maybe one or two little tweaks or messages that he's managed to get across yesterday in terms of things he wants to see.

Fingers crossed for a win and a party atmosphere in the away end.

Agree but doubt he would antagonize the main voice in the dressing room mid season.

Ohman was on the bench for the Carlisle and Scunthorpe games, so he's not been completely left out the picture by Limbrick, but yes, he'd get in my team.

Just listening to RH apparently we tried to sign Akinde but the Gimps wanted too much money for him.

As we are in  no danger of going up or down I'd like to see Pollock get the game time, nows the time to see just what he can do ready for next season.

He might well not be ready yet but the potential is there and we don't want the same situation next season where he is still considered too raw

You think we're going to just release him or transfer him? If it's the latter the more games he's started the better surely

Personally I think it might be Ohman who leaves

Stupid to dive in like that but didn't look that bad a challenge to me. Their lad milked it a bit and sure enough, Bishop was there within a split second to request a red card.

Why the fook is Ogbu on and Wright off???

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Well none of the players can't say they've not been given a chance.  I'm looking forward to see who these players are that want to play for IH.

Looked a straight red to me, I don’t think Waterfall can have any complaint.

Great save by McKeown with his foot. Maynard should've buried it though.

Not excessive force TBH, 50/50 challenge but Waterfall was late- not malicious or dangerous. I would have given Both Bishop and Waterfall a yellow , Waterfall for the obvious and Bishop for being unsporting/desent and trying to influence my decision.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Monday morning on the training ground, dead ball practice to find someone who can take one where it goes towards a Town player, because at the moment we are absolutely useless with them.

Plus it lags behind by about five minutes. And often their reports are so error strewn that it's clear that no one's actually bothered watching the matches at all.

BBC not showing any ‘live text’ at all for our game. Bizarre. Must all be off at the Cup games.

Get in....even if they score now we would still get a creditable draw with ten men.

If we can keep this up and see this game out this would be a fantastic win, away from home against a Mansfield team which ok are not exactly up there this season but on paper they do have a strong squad and lets not forget we was down to 10 men after 10 mins. even a draw would be a good result, Ian Holloways Black and White army!

Rose is starting to play really unorthdox football.  His well placed bobble shot last week, a sublime "dummy" and now a one two off a Mansfield player.

Gibson off, Whitehouse on. Clifton to left back. Must be an injury?

Whitehouse buys a free kick within 5 seconds of coming on - more of that please!

Grimsby are back.  What a fight.  Bodies everywhere.  You could see our players tiring but they never gave up.  The defence was incredible, Ogbu ran himself into the ground.  Robson playing out of his own box , a few deft flicks and back heels in the game as well. All we need to do now is get our shooting boots on.  Have a strike quicker. But Ollies army's here to stay, Ollie's army is on it's way, I wouldn't wanna be anywhere else but here today.

Had a quick look at Stagsnet earlier and had a wry smile when i read a comment saying that we were just the type of team that Mansfield should be beating. Yeah right, because they are the Barcelona of League 2 was my thought.

We've just gone above them and i am grinning from ear to ear. Even better that we had 10 men and it was an own goal.

My mate texted me from match
Says we look so much better going forward
Attacking in strength/numbers

I think it's only 3 goals conceded in six matches?

Listening to commentary I was really impressed how all the midfielders got forward

Brilliant effort all round

Hard not to get carried away - I'm 58 so I don't care... I'm getting carried away!

Great to see Town on Sky at 5 on Saturday night. One day I’ll have recorded it for the scenes after winning a division on an afternoon in May!

Regardless of how we got the result, Town responded to poor decisions with pure energy after going down to ten men. Travelling fans sounded beyond awesome.

Well done to GTFC .

Clifton was immense today...started off central midfield, then left side of midfield and finally left back. He hardly put a foot wrong in the whole game.

It was Clifton, who sounded like he deserved a special well done from the gaffer, but it could have been any of them.

SSN Coverage was relentless. Wouldn't be the worst thing if this media exposure was consistent

Well done town, same players as before xmas and just getting that bit of good fortune and the confidence returns. Good times ahead.

Dead Eye Dobbin stood motionless waiting, waiting, waiting for the ball to arrive. Back came the right foot, Down came the right foot, Bang ! Headlines around the world as the ball flew into the very top right hand corner of the goal.( Jim Dobbin scoring in the 89th minute for Town against Newcastle United away 24/10/1992 )

I've not been then worn out after a game since the playoff final against Village Green what a game, what a performance. How Macca kept us in it at the end I don't know

It was a red looking at a replay on teitter, but the ref was excrement today wasn't he.

On a negative just walked past then drove past our idiots and their idiots getting into it at a junction just down from the ground.

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I once said Gazza's IQ was less than his shirt number and he asked me: What's an IQ? - George Best

Love it that the BBC reports that Tranmere pulled 3 goals back away to 10 men Watford.  Watford only went down to 10 men in the 89th minute!

Try playing against 10 men for nearly the whole game.

From the Telewag website late in the game "Maynard see’s McKeown off his line and digs en effort from 345 yards that the Mariners’ keeper miraculously tips over!!"
If he shot from that far out it shouldnt have been a miracle he saved it!

Wonderful interview.

So proud of the lads today. The confidence must be sky high after winning in these circumstances.

Significant quote from the interview.....

"At half time I told the lads the pressure is on them not us........I expect you to win.'

That is the mindset of a winner.

Nice to see we were wearing the stripes and not a manky pink strip.

Belief is a great thing. You can tell that the manager has it and he is able to pass it on to players. I could only listen but it was clear that players are doing a lot more running and are a more compact unit. There were signs of this against Salford and it must be something IH has talked to them about if only briefly. Good to hear credit being given by the manager to players and to AL - they must feel 10 feet tall tonight. (Waterfall may be a little shorter than the rest though. )

“If all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.”

Hi, Gashead here. Well done for your win today. Hope you’re looking after Ollie. Having watched Coughlin as our manager for a year we did like him, well most of the time. But hi Sam football was dire to watch but he snatched results and did well. One thing we did notice was Coughlin was poor tactically and was often out thought by the opposition. Ollie on the other hand was pretty smart tactically. When you lot went down to 10 men did Coughlin stretch you or stick rigidly to his defensive midfield? Did Ollie out think him. Coughlin is a one trick pony, Ollie on the other hand will be very imaginative which will sometimes catch him out.
Well done today.

Thanks for that post.Mansfield fans were distinctly unimpressed, particularly with their over paid under performing players. I don't think they stretched us enough, tb h we were never really threatened

In his after match interview Ollie said Coughlin was giving the right instructions for playing against 10 or similar. Coughlin seemed to bemoan the work rate, fitness and body fat levels (think we know who he's on about there "who ate all the pies") of several Mansfield  players in his after match interview on Notts fm. Also Said it wasn't a sensing off too.

I think their manager told them to try and pull us about a bit but they just didn’t have the class

It wasn't until the final few minutes and added time that they looked dangerous but at no time did it look to me that they were effective with an extra man.
