Championee!

The Western Junior FA tonight announced that Auchinleck Talbot would be champions of the last ever Junior Super League as the clubs turn senior next season in the new West of Scotland Football League (one step below the Lowland League) The other leagues below the Super League also had their respective champions declared.

Although it's not the way the club would have liked to have won the title, but given our amazing title win last season, where we won 27, drew 2 and lost just once in our thirty league games, it's no surprise that we were awarded the title, despite being nine points the leaders Kilwinning Rangers. Talbot had nine games in hand on them, and having won thirteen, drawn twice, and lost just the once in their sixteen league game season so far, it seemed reasonable to expect another clear title win. Our last two seasons as a Junior club have then seen us win 40 games, draw 4 and lose just 2. Some going in any grade of the game.

The title is welcome, but it's the accompanying entry into the senior Scottish Cup that goes with it. Having knocked out league clubs in the last two years, it's become a testing ground to see just how good the club are, and can maybe aspire to be.
