Sky reporting that Swindon, Crewe and Plymouth will be promoted but no-one will be relegated. https://www.skysports.com/foot.....coronavirus-pandemic
Are they planning on getting the league up to 92 clubs again? I have to say, this is a minefield. I wonder how the Conference will be affected. The North/South split below the Conference really makes it difficult to make decisions when someone like Bury goes bust, in my book.

If ratified do Barrow come up? Not sure if Bury dropping out means there is room for one more club??
Where would we finish then...who is going to work that out!

Would that mean only two relegated from league One? Or 3 if the League Two playoffs happen?

Well, I may be wrong but..
If League One stays as is - 3 get relegated (Bury would have been the 4th) If 4 go up from L2 - that means L1 is once again 24 teams
L2 would have 23 teams after this (3 down and 4 up) - so Barrow surely come up?

Think promotion is understandable, plus why should clubs walk away from semi and final paydays. Relegation is a stitch up Promotion to L2 must be Barrow, which saves people from thorny problem of Harrogate or Notts for second promotion. Personally, I'd like Stevenage to go and either of Harrogate or Notts to come up. But can't have everything. Think we will drop one or two places as Walsall and Newport will ease past us.

Think we will finish in 14th as Newport have one more away game than GTFC so we would remain above them, but could be wrong

Not that it matters but purely on a points per game format we would drop below Walsall & Newport to 15th. If it's weighted- not sure how that works - although we have played one game more overall we have played one game less at home than those two. Sad I know. Also had an each way bet on a top 4 finish on a presumably 46 game season - wonder if Ladbrokes will cough up a refund?

From a practical point of view it's the only sensible thing that could be done. In my opinion, the start of next season is also in doubt. They haven't got this thing under control at all and, realistically, we can only be more confident when they eventually get a vaccine. But this is not guaranteed and we don't know when.
However the financial side of things and contracts etc is really worrying. Clubs have no income without matches played before a paying crowd. Help is needed and it should come from the top of the game. TV should also put in some cash in my opinion. Here I am paying a huge amount to Virgin Media each month and getting no sport. No one has said you are not getting what you paid for, here's a bit of a refund. Perhaps this is simplistic but the future of lower league football is under serious threat. You can say health is more important and it is but football and other sports are part of a culture and help people escape from all the crap in their day to day lives. Without it we will find life even tougher.

17th February - relegation doomed Stevenage appoint Russell Slade as managerial consultant.
15th May - Stevenage avoid relegation.
Now, don’t get me wrong, inflicting a global pandemic on the planet is about as ‘industrial’ a tactic as they come, but if it wasn’t clear before, it is now: the man is a footballing genius.

Where do Barrow stand on the apparently important 'proper football club' to 'tinpot' scale?

They’re proper tinpot, but still like Barca compared to St. Evenage.

As predicted, Vince thinks it’s a excrement idea suggesting the games should be played...yet the chair at Vale, who are one point off the play offs voted in favour to end the season. Odious flipping hippie.
Although they’re generating little income I can see some clubs at our level being ok and relatively safe at this stage, almost all have furloughed everyone and many have released players etc already.
Signing players will be an issue I’d imagine, especially when they’re not sure when this will all start again. Personally I’d have cancelled the season and voided the promotion and relegation and then provided an extended pre season.
If, and we really don’t know, the season can start and is behind closed doors there’s a potential income stream there but I can’t see it being enough to plug the gap left by having to play to an empty stadium.
Whilst I agree that clubs at the top have large amounts of cash etc, they equally love to their means or beyond so the notion of additional money filtering down is pointless. For several reasons; one being that it’s swallowed up for wages etc, the second, why should they bail out poorly run club at our level? It’s not Chelsea’s fault Macclesfield have been poorly run...I’d also air on the side of caution wanting top clubs to filter cash down as I’d imagine that would begin to slowly look like feeder clubs and B teams...

As the club has voted to end the League with 5 home games left, what is the position on season tickets? I don’t want a refund but would like to see a discount on renewal for next season. Has this been confirmed by the Club?

Virgin Media are allowing customers to pause their sports subscriptions, my house hold did it and have saved over £40 a month
