You would have thought that in the time that the EFL have been sat there with their thumbs up their @r$eh0le5, they would have had plenty of time to work out a fixture list for each possible start date, so would expect next seasons fixtures to be released sometime soon. But at the speed they got things sorted, expect it 2 days before the season starts.

Perhaps not actually not knowing who is going to be in the League yet is a pretty good excuse ?

Yes I understand that but surely they can have team X and team Y, and then fill team details when things are sorted.

Well, no, because if Notts County are promoted for instance, they will not be allowed to host home games on the same day as Forest, so knowing those X and Ys is quite important. Due to complications such as policing and other sporting events (see Cheltenham Town) there is more to planning a fixture list that hitting ‘go’ on some random fixture generator.

The EFL/ Macclesfield appeal doesn't get heard until August 11!

Talk about cutting it fine?

Could not be done for a who season but surely they could do it for the first six games. Then release the rest after August 11th to give clubs more notice.

If we don't start until 2nd week of September, and no prospect of (a few) fans being allowed in until October earliest, then surely to know fixtures by mid August would be plenty early enough?
