John Tondeur has announced that Alan will not be commentating on Town games this season. I hope he’s not unwell!

Could be absolutely anything but I echo your sentiments and hope he’s fit and well. Other than my dad, he’s probably the single most important factor in my love of the club and football in general.

Possibly due to age and wanting to be more careful?

Let's hope that's all it is.

Out of interest is George Kerr still doing the Scunny games?

Shame, I really enjoyed Alans no nonsense insight and knoedgable perspective into the game and the way he would offer an opinon differing to John Tondeur.

Please don’t shoot me for having this idea but as it’s the BBC I would expect the new co commentator will be female who in the past played netball for her school.

May be Alan just doesn’t fancy it anymore?

To be fair, whilst I know the female commentator comment was tongue in cheek, I’ve met several female town fans over the years that have more than enough knowledge and understanding of the club and the game to do a good job. Many actually have a better understanding than some blokes I’ve met...

Not surprising is it? To be accepted in such a male dominated environment a woman has to be even more of a fan than most of the men. That does not translate to The football knowledge of women in general though.

He no longer fancies commentating on Stevenage away?

I can’t understand the bloke... I really can’t!
