Radio Humberside won’t be providing commentary on Hull this season as they were unable to reach an agreement.

Doubt it had a bearing on it but Burnsy was highly critical of them last season wasn't he, particurlarly the manager.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Does this mean that we will get commentary on Town games, or will they fill the void with bloody rugby league?

Love him or hate him, he's good at his job, and sounds like Hull have spat their dummy out

At least he asks probing questions unlike a certain JT.
Managers have had such an easy ride here for years.

At least we had Compass as some kind of option, haven’t a number of local commercial stations disappeared this week in favour of a National greatest hits station?
I live near Selby and Minster FM has gone, so not sure about Viking?

Weren't Viking (or a sister station of theirs) already doing Hull commentaries last season too?

Is this a case of the club spotting their dummy out like we did?

It was 2 or 3 seasons ago, but yes, they were. I used to enjoy listening to Hull lose, with Burnsey revelling in their demise.

Really? I think he's probably the worst reporter I've ever heard. He is so aggressive with his questioning that he will never get a responsive interview. JT has a much better manner and rapport, except he is pretty toothless with his questioning.

I think burnsy asks better, more probing questions personally.

JTs interviews are almost always soft. The fact jolley couldn't handle them shows he is clearly not cut out mentally for the pressures of football league management.

Surely it is better to have someone ask pertinent questions rather than being an bottom licker.

It's not about the questions he asks, it's the way he speaks to the interviewee. A good interviewer builds a relationship where they get open answers by building a rapport. He dives straight in being aggressive and gets backs up from the very start.

Plus being negative about every single thing possible isn't what reporting is about. Although nowadays it does seem to have become the way.

It's brilliant what's going on at Hull. Their erratic and apparently unstable owner somehow has retained the services of Grant Mccann. I'm all for sticking with managers and giving them a good run but given their run over a long period of time, they surely should have started afresh this season.

Then there has been the renaming to Hull Tigers thing that created a huge divide between the fans and the owners, they don't own their own ground and I can see Allam pulling the plug. Let's hope so.

Is Boothferry Park still there? Open it up, their attendances will go back to 2000 or so and they can just get on with rugby league, or union or whatever it is.

I'm not disagreeing but I have certainly seem some good interviews of his. One with Paul Hurst after the Wembley win comes to mind, His questions are uncoventional and can be quite probing. I guess if you deviate from the more traditional questions that the pros have been asked many times before and have stock answers to (and don't really tell the listener much) then it's always going to be a bit hit and miss.
