Pre-Orient Press Conference

I wonder if Ollie has ever done a 'normal' press conference.

Even Donald Trump gets lambasted in his latest rant.

At one point I thought Ollie was going to explode like Mr Creosote.

It was a decent press conference until he started rambling on about nothing. I was with him when he complained about the towel situation then he just went off on one and I'm like "whoah chill out mate".

There's eccentric and worryingly unbalanced

Yeah, it's getting old now, all this complaining about the situation. It's the same for everyone, just get on with it.

Would be nice to hear a bit more about the football.

Might be in the minority here but I enjoy his rants. Surely better this than the anodyne banalities we suffered from the likes of Slade, Jolley or Hurst over the years? Ollie - famous and respected throughout football - has helped bring our club back into the public eye. He’s earned the right to be eccentric, unlike wannabes like Bignot who hadn’t! That’s the difference.

I thought his points were valid and well made. It’s great to have a manager who will give an interview of up to around 15 minutes instead of the 3 minutes or so that we had to make do with in the past.

Apologies if I've missed this elsewhere, but does anyone know why is the kick off at 5.30pm?

Same with the Colchester away game.

Ollie has always been a bit off-piste - as others have said, I quite like it.  I dont necessarily agree with some of his points when he veers into politics, but that is a personal thing;

I think he treats the fans with respect and (at least from what I've heard) he listens to questions and responds to them rather than trotting out the 10-a-penny quotes you usually get.

Re: orient game - I am gutted no fans.  This is the closest match for me all season; a hop and a skip from Blackheath/Greenwich borders to the bleak, frozen wastelands of east London.

Don't know why they always interview him near the main road, it wasn't too bad this time, but surely they could move to the other side of the field!

You get everything in them you need. All the usual updates on squads fitness etc and a little extra entertainment thrown in - which sometimes means you find out more than you normally would.

I’d take these 15-20 mins over the standard 5-6 repetitive boring none sense we used to get. I actually look forward to them been uploaded on a Thursday now 😂

Think that’s covid dependant I’d suspect.

I personally love his interviews, very entertaining and refreshing, as is his brand of football so it seems to be after Tuesday....UTMM1

When you get a passionate manager that's what you get. Personally I love his interviews and I feel more informed about the football side and all of its (unprecedented) challenges than any other time or manager. Plus you get a real laugh whether intended or not and god knows we need more of that.Not many before him would be on Sky,Talksport and the BBC in the same week either. And if you tire of him- just dont listen.

Never said I was tired of him, or I don't like him. In fact I find him engaging, funny and passionate. I look forward to his interviews as much as the next fan. I just think he has overdone the whole covid thing a bit, that's all.

COVID? I think I have heard him mention it. Just one or twice maybe!

I've gotta say I enjoy Holloways interviews and watched more of them than Hursts, Slade, Bignots and Jollys put together. He gabe a pretty honest assessment of the match in that we got lucky with the handball etc which I thought was refreshing. Hard to complain when you have a manager as passionate about football as Holloway even if he does like to go off on several tangents.

Give me an Ollie press conference over Hurst, Eddie Howe, Solskjaer etc. any day. I am glad he uses his platform to cover more than just football. Although I doubt Trump is quaking in his boots!

I’m starting to find his interviews tiresome and a bit ridiculous now. The perpetual whinging was maybe slightly amusing at first but is getting boring. His Leyton Orient post match comments about COVID-19 and letting it rip through the ‘healthy’ population were just moronic and irresponsible. I mean after such a fantastic win why say something that stupid?
