Got up this morning with a feeling of considerable sadness that town will be at Orient and nobody will be there to watch. There are probably more serious aspects of the current situation but I desperately want to go to a match.
Think this fixture last season was the highlight of my football year, 1400 town fans including the nut jobs from Aalst (?) who basically went mental for 90 minutes. Not violent scary mental but great fun, make us laugh mental.
Took my then 15 year old grandson, train from Slough to Paddington, then the tube, talked about footy all the way, beer before the game. In the ground discovered they sold gluten free hot dogs so bought one despite not being hungry but to encourage them for being so innovative. Grandson laughed out loud as he watched me consume the most evil food item I've ever put in my mouth!!
Town fans sang their hearts out for 90 minutes in a sensational atmosphere, Billy Clark scored on his debut (?) and they equalised with a penno in injury time. Overall a wonderful day out at football and I wonder when we'll get to the next one?

Great memories Bucks. It’s the people that make it worth going.

That game and the one there a couple of seasons before were both great days out. The last one with my pal and the previous with my son (sadly now locked down in Liverpool). Seeing all the familiar old faces, and bumping into cousins. And as you say, the Belgians (playing their joker!) acting as cheerleaders.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

That " We're Aalst and Grimsby" chant that also morphed into " We're all from Grimsby" was absolutley brilliant

When we next got together en masse at Bradford singing that loud and proud, their fans all commented on how great Town fans are, even though basically it was ripping them to bits

Who'd have thought that was only 7-8 months ago.... a couple of weeks in to the New Year and we were all so full of hope and expectation for Town. What could go wrong with Ollie leading us towards some kind of special Mariners regeneration?

Unbelievable how things turned so quickly.... it made me realise on Tuesday when we beat Cheatingham that a Town win & the celebrations and camaraderie of us fellow fans buzzing after a great team performance just can't be bettered

Fingers crossed we'll get another win asap and that might act as a catalyst for us to have a few more boosts to our morale before this year is out

I was in the orient club yesterday, Picking up a badge for my Daughter who is a Town fan and collecting badges from the grounds she's visited. I live 10 minutes from the ground so it's
the local Town game for me. I was chatting to a couple of Orient fans that were in there and they recalled our manic Away support from last season I said it was often like that. They also said there was a real void in life with the present situation. Praised Harry Kane for his support with shirts etc for Orient and were critical of West Ham's lack of support  for them.

8 months without Football is soul destroying and with the financial whirlpool effecting lower league football it's a real concern I can't see any change till next year. Let's hope we can survive

I was planning to watch the game with a orient fan but tier 2 has put a stop to that and the local pub not showing it as CITY V ARSENAL taken preference Blooomin premier league UTM

Why would they feel West Ham owe them anything ? ....Orient were strongly lobbying against West Ham having the Olympic Stadium werent they ?  Or do they feel that West Ham being on the doorstep is now poaching in their support area ?

Might have been something to do with the fact the Olympic Stadium which was paid for by the tax payer, was given to Wham for next to nowt and it's on Orient's doorstep. Favouritism for the wealthier club. Who was Mayor of London then?

I agree entirely. S**tbag of a club, run by muppets. Would like to see them relegated. Won't happen though as Moyes will grind out a 12th place finish.....then get sacked......again!

That was a great day out.  I dragged along my London mates who loved it.....  The belgians were mental.... that chant all the way thru the 2nd half (we are aalst and grimsby) is like an ear worm.

God i miss footy.   Who cares if we are a small club... i'd much rather support a club like Grimsby than one of the big clubs...

Yeah was ana bsolutely cracking away day that one and would have been flawless if they hadn't had that last minute penalty tucked away.

That chant the Belgian lads started was class, still goes thru my head now!

Wham broke up in 1986, so why the hell have they been given the Olympic stadium? The world has gone mad!!!!

Interestingly I thought one of Orient’s best players today was Akinola who is on loan from West Ham

Why would they give a club the nations  60000 seat Olympic stadium when they rarely average over 5000 fans .
The ground would have been an unaffordable white elephant to them .
At least WeSt Ham usually fill it as would Spurs if they’d got it , the real cheek is that the whole of the U.K. paid for that ground ad they did all the other Olympic facilities , they should make it free to visiting fans outside of London 😂

Orient didn’t expect the stadium to be given exclusively to them but were looking forward some kind of consideration. Shared occupancy or compensation.

On the wider question of value for the taxpayer. Yes virtually gifting it to West Ham sucks.

I wondered why Harry Kane's name kept flashing up in the top corner of the screen whilst I was watching the game yesterday.
