Saw this at the cinema and loved it.

The opening scene with the footage of him being driven, along with police escort, to Napoli's stadium to meet the fans for the first time is incredible. Like a modern day gladiator. You could tell he was shitting himself, who wouldn't, as he's being mobbed by thousands of ecstatic fans.

Amazing that he was getting coked up, whoring, and clubbing virtually every night and still managed to lead Napoli, the then perennial underdogs and butt of many a joke, to the title, against all the odds, and then did it again!

He was chewed up and spat out by Napoli and the Neapolitan mafia.

Just think what could have been had Ivano been given the VIP treatment at the Bag's Ball, the Kingsway, the Pea Bung and Nicole's...

Yep, it’s quite brilliant.

It's on Netflix at the mo. Gabriel Clarke involved, same as the Jack Charlton doc (no Andy Townsend involvement in this one though).

Yep, I saw the Bobby and Gazza ones on Netflix too.

The Maradona film was on Channel 4 (? ) during the the first lockdown. Absolutely brilliant film.

Went to Sorrento on holiday a couple of years back and there are little idols of him in probably 90% of bars there, about 45 mins from Naples. There’s a footy shirt shop in a back street there that still prints his name onto new Napoli shirts today.

Saw this a few years ago but will probably give it another watch as it's a really great documentary. I had money on Colombia to win USA 94 and remember them being heavily fancied, especially after smashing Argentina in qualifying and having a proper exciting team at the time with the likes of Escobar, Asprilla, Valderama, Rincon, Higuita etc. Obviously it ended in tragic failure. I never knew about the strong influence Pablo Escobar had on the national side and the country as a whole until watching this.

Cost you a lot of money that goal? Would you like to call your lawyer 😉

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

"Sunderland Til I Die" was brilliant, just watched the Tottenham one and that was very good also, can't wait for the Wrexham documentary

Just finished watching the above on bbc iplayer. Really interesting, disturbing documentary on pablo Escobar and his namesake,  the Colombian captain , who was murdered after scoring an own goal at the U.S. world cup. Word of warning ,subtitled,100 minutes long and some gruesome pictures

I remember a later Columbian goalkeeper doing what was described as a scorpion kick save; and my thoughts were if Escobar was murdered, wasn't that a risky thing to do? It was a classic though.
