To be honest it probably did. Clearly they’ve been entertaining the idea for a while. The deal has only fallen through now we know, but I’ve no doubt if they could have hushed it through they would have. By which time it would be too late.

Now, there’s an argument that could be made that any investment is a good thing, but the point is an investment from Shutes and a consortium of local business people is infinitely more valuable than money pilfered off widows and laundered through casinos.

I am no solicitor but I got a message from one who is and specialises in company law. He said that with £1m May would’ve been largest single shareholder, with something like 29%. With 30% you can trigger a buy out as a PLC.

So slightly misleading to say it wasn’t a controlling interest and I reckon the majority shareholder in that set up would be quite controlling . Thank god they’ve seen sense but only when rumbled at the weekend by the Telegraph!! #UTM

If you're trying to portray Alex May's fraud as victimless (because the victims didn't lose cash) you obviously have no idea of the mental anguish and
confusion his (and others') activities caused to the elderly people concerned. Neither would I welcome a Saudi Prince.

Surely the biggest thing here is that folk who’ve possibly been in the fence or have believed, which they’re entitled to, Fenty has done a good job has no crossed the line.

We don’t know 100% that there isn’t a fraudster amongst their ranks no, however the chance there is is very slim. We do however know 100% that Alex May is a convicted fraudster.

It's fair to say that many here hold differing opinions to yourself, so here's a few questions question for you. I'm not interested in mammary-for-tat, I'm hoping for an honest, response.

• What do you honestly see at the best way forward for our football club?
  
  How do the fans and the management of this club repair their fractured relationship?
  
  Do you think there is any sort of scenario that would see JF relinquish control of this club?
  

One thing for sure is the animosity between the board and supporters does GTFC no good, nor does a lack of investment and being beholden to one person.

I'm just interested to hear your thoughts on how we as the GTFC community fix this debacle.


** I'm interested in a proper open debate on this because 'Fenty Bashing' from one side and 'It's  all the fans fault' from the other is frankly quite boring now. I sick of going round in circles and want to talk solutions.

Police said the mortgage fraud began in 2007 when Joseph and Kapikanya focused on different scams which involved properties in Worsley, Greater Manchester, Altrincham, Holmes Chapel and Malpas, Cheshire and Sleaford, Lincolnshire.

Can I take it after this recent debacle that anyone applying for a large share purchase will be fully vetted first. The next dodgy applicant might not be as obvious and stupid as Mr May.

Perhaps the application form could include a question 'Do you have CRO?' and 'if yes, please list all offences of which you have been convicted below or on a separate sheet of paper if insufficient room here')

It was tongue in cheek, I don't know either and I doubt either of them are fraudsters but of course there is no way of knowing who their financial backers are.

I had no idea about May or his previous until this weekend's big reveal, actually as 'May' he hasn't got any previous of course He was convicted under his other unpronounceable name, Easy enough to avoid being identified with either a) a simple name change or b) be one of the 'invisible never disclosed' financial backers

On the contrary, if anyone has cost the club it is surely Fenty.

His business dealings have forced him to resign from his regeneration role and now questions around his integrity linger.  However it is portrayed, he holds the power at the club and we can’t afford for there to be those kind of questions around our place at the regeneration / relocation table.  

As far as I can see, regeneration is just about our only route to a new ground, and a new ground is essential to our future by increasing income streams.  Ultimately that is worth millions, and if that is at now risk then Fenty needs to do the right thing.  When the Shutes story began, Fenty could have secured a legacy of sorts, the man who stood in the gap and kept the club financially afloat, before handing on to those who could take us further.

Now, it risks ending in ignominy..

Seriously, you need to question yourself as a GTFC fan if you think the fans are at fault.  To be truthful, your not a fan you are just a sh*t windup merchant.  What you have to understand is we are all fed up of the club just slow boating along without any progression and we can all see the inevitable coming.  People like Alex May you need to keep them away otherwise you end up in a situation like other clubs have found them in, i.e. Macclesfield and Bury.  As much as i'd like May's money, which would be a welcome investment, its the future i would be more concerned about, especially now we know who he is and what his past is.
