Hurst teams are usually well-drilled, and I’d back him to get us out of this mess.

And Hurts’s teams where always fit too, with players being able to play 90+ mins and not fading after 55.

To be fair he didn't need a fitness coach.

Hurst hardly made a bad signing when he was here. Some great signings over a number of years and a few average ones but not many bad ones.

few ifs here, but if he went and if we got the holy trinity in, would Hurst be prepared to come back?

I don't know but it's worth someone (at GTFC) phoning him up to ask. If he says yes I'd get him in before Friday.

Holloway has to go and go now. We are on a downward spiral. We can't afford to waste the January transfer window.

If Hurst says no then put Dave Moore and others can do a holding job as they have before now and we can sort things out over Christmas.

Otherwise our best hope of surviving is that Covid gets out of control, brings an early end to the season, and everything starts from scratch again in August 2021.

Didn't he say if Shutes took over he would leave?

Or did I imagine that?

He did indeed. If I remember rightly he said one of the main reasons he came was to work with Fenty who he has a lot of respect for.

Tonight he advised anyone interested in buying the club should call John Fenty.

I remember the balls to Monkhouse, the season we got promoted and reached two finals. Seems a world away now, this team is vastly inferior to Hurst's side. I think we'd be in the bottom half of the national league prem.

And I'd swap diagonal balls to Monkhouse every game for what we have now.

We did struggle however dire is an unfair assessment. In hindsight, it wasn't always pretty, but that is the nature of non-league and we made it count in at the ultimate.
