I preferred the ending in the Return of the King when Gollum fell into the Pit of Doom.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.

Unfortunately when they tell us, it's too late.

A good friend of mine who lives in Blackpool, told me it would be very interesting.

When he made that speech to us Town fans in the Lower Trust Bar I really believed he was going to be a success here and turn a bit of coal into a diamond, how wrong I was.
The blokes a fraud.
Phone melting with players wanting to come here for less money...pfff.

Would anyone know what his stats were compared to others??

I know he would come out top on the BS chart

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

When we played Plymouth in the re-aranged fixture in March, just before the Covid lockdown, we went into their Green Taverners Club. It is a great bar and entertainments facility that is for the Janners fans to enjoy. We were talking to some of their fans and were giving and recieving some good banter. One of their fans asked me what I thought of Holloway, I said that I could not believe he had joined Town, and if he kept his promises and got the financial backing, I was really excited for the future. He said "down here we call him Hollow words, he promised us the moon and legged it leaving us in the lurch".
They say a leopard doesnt change its spots. Now I know how the Janners must have felt, utterly betrayed.

Interesting that when you speak to fans of clubs he’s managed, even those he’s been relatively successful at they don’t have much positive stuff to say...is he the ultimate PR machine? A billy bullshitter, someone who says funny stuff and people are hoodwinked?

I have been a Town fan all my life and have been going for 60 years.

I never saw ONE Ian Holloway game.

His first game was on January 4th and I badly broke my leg on January 3rd..

...and when I had recovered no fans were allowed.

The quote that sticks out the most is when he was doing that motivational speech in one of the schools and he said "I wanna get you in the Premier League" , never once did I think that would happen but I also bought into this fantasy of a Holloway inspired utopia and thought this guy is in it for the long run.

Then you here he hasn't actually invested a penny yet, now he won't because of the board. I've stated I've no problem with his upset at the current situation but I'm extremely angry at his departure, the nature of it and I just feel he spent the year buttering us up, praising the supporters, telling us how privileged he is to manager us and to have us as fans and then just like that he drops us like a stone and does a runner.

For me, he is now one of my disliked figures in Football. Absoute charlitan and complete bottler.

Fenty takes most of the blame but Holloway has crapped on us for an almighty height.
