What great news today that finally we may have new owners....
Although it still is a risky situation, I'm more optimistic about having new owners and taking ourselves forward more than I ever have done under the current board.
Now, ONCE it is approved and the deal is done... Do we really get behind the board and the new manager and raise funds to get us out of this mess?
What about an operation 'Avoid Relegation'... Imagine if we raised enough funds to improve the squad enough to avoid relegation (which is still a major possibility despite new owners and manager)... What would that tell the new owners and manager about the fans!
What do we all think. Would anybody be prepared to do it?

Take a breath son, there's a £1.5m budget cap don't forget.

I would have thought the new owners will have budgeted for ongoing extra costs in recruiting better players and backroom staff. Penny pinching these last few years have got GTFC nowhere, you only have to read about how some of the players were/have been treated. Holloway signed a bunch of players on contract and I am pretty sure he never saw them playing, so no doubt some will be let go, he also had a scout so will we still have one? Strengthening coach etc. A decent training ground, I could go on and on alas we will just have to wait and see. Just throwing money at it isn't the answer. UPTM

I understand, but at a time where you can't attend games and this also looking likely it won't be for a while, I feel we just need something else. Raising £30k to £50k additional, could be the difference between us staying up or going down!

I would wait and see who the new manager is. If it is Hurst then ......... he wasn’t very keen on having fans involved in OP was he?
In the meantime iFollow beckons!😀

Doesnt have to go to the playing budget, it could be used to pay off the dross freeing up some of the budget. It could also be an assistant manager, coach, etc etc. Just a thought anyway.

I completely appreciate the sentiment mate and to be fair, I have no idea where we might possibly be at in terms of revenue for this year. Certainly fans committing to purchasing Ifollow passes and merch and the like in greater numbers is going to be a welcome boost to finances but I'm not sure if a direct fundraiser could have the same impact as it might have done in previous seasons, owing to that budget cap. Every little helps though and paying off our dross ain't gonna be cheap, that's for sure!

Think we need to wait and see what the new owners say
£100k to them is pocket money.
They will have some sort of financial package in place both immediately and longer term.
They might want to test the level of support by offering season tickets for 2021/22 early doors.......
If they got 5000 season tickets sold they wouldn’t need an operation fundraising
Just a thought.

Definitely got to wait for the full-time whistle to blow and find out what the situation is. There is so much we still don't know.

If/when they come in, I will spend a small fortune in the club shop. My little nephew won’t know what’s hit him.

I was rather hoping the multi millionaire new ownership consortium might have just enough to make sure we don't go down, flipping problem if they haven't and they have to rely on us again

No point did I say that they needed the money. It was the point of showing the owners and the manager how much we are behind them. Yes this can be done with ifollow, merch and tickets but I just thought that little kitty may be the difference of staying up or going down

You mean we can bung the referee a tenner before the last match of the season? Seriously if 'a little kitty' makes the difference we are in trouble

Surely the simple thing for non ST holders is to buy ifollow passes for every home game, and all to buy ifollow passes for every away game. For Orient we bought over 1000, if we get that to 1500 its £8k a game after VAT

Don't worry Corky, we have heavyweight businessmen running things now. We don't have to do fundraising anymore. You'll get used to it eventually, not being tinpot.
