Green up top on his own again.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Another team set up to keep it tight and hope something drops. Can see us having to go 442 again at 60 mins  to try and get an equalizer after the usual defensive lapse in the first half

Am I right in thinking the iFollow Live Match commentary will be the home one ?

Bennett is ok going forward but several times we have conceded from him playing a sloppy pass or letting his man past.  Preston and Bennett on the same side of the pitch is too weak and where a lot of goals against come from

Pointless with green as he can’t hold the ball up, pass the ball or shoot. Maybe wins a header once in a while and throws his arms around giving 15 fouls a game.

On the plus side its good to see Wright back in the squad.  He is one of the few players we have than can actually make an impact when he comes on.

A positive impact I mean. Plenty who do the opposite.

Boy, do we need some new players.

Not sure how much difference Hurst will have been able to make given that he has only had them for a week or so's training.

You never know though, we are due god result. Maybe this will be our day?

All players have a chance of redemption under Hurst, even Matt Green. He’s not been a slacker, just not been played to his strengths.

Batch, Crombie, Moore K, Wiggington, Cumming, Waters, Bonnyman, Ford, Emson, Drinkell, Whymark. Love you all, You are the reason I'm on here. You've had help from Todd, Handyside, Futcher P, Groves, Mendonca, Macca etc etc etc. Up The Mariners!!!!!!!!!

Pope and Rodney up top depend on supply from wide. Stop that and we have a chance. We simply have to keep the ball and compete for everything. No long ball to their centre halfs. Scrap in midfield. Feed Morais,

Surprised that Gibson doesn't start.

They are all playing for their future at the club and maybe beyond. Getting sacked by us is hardly a career enhancing development.  It kinda proves you are not L2 standard.

Lets have a little hope. Remember that Hursty has changed the training regime into smaller groups who have a little more chance on learning how to play with a smaller group of teammates.

All we can do is hope.

Either we will lose 10-0 or win 0-10

BUT maybe Hursty has seen in training what he can play like if he has been focused on being a lone striker. Doesnt mean he has to be an out and out goalscorer. Just that he may be able to hold the ball up for others to run onto.

The definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.    Unless Pollock can score from a corner not sure how we'll score.

In his younger days had something though as played 10 times in the championship.

Age gets to us all sadly which must explain in part why he hasnt impressed when Ive seen him play.

Hard to tell from the tv angle but vales goal looked offside to me, he seemed to be level with Mckeown.

Well last week we held out for 4 minutes before conceding. Today we managed 8 minutes. So that's twice as good.

We need to add new keeper to the wish list.

Looked offside for the goal

I really do not rate our centre backs, Rose and Green

Enough been said about Green but our centre backs supposedly make up for their chronic lack of pace by being ‘big’ yet we’ve conceded because they’re weak as anythjng

McKeown should have done better with that too.

They are getting a lot of bodies into the box and we're crumbling every time. At least we've suggested some sort of threat at the other end. Might end up 1-5.

Gona get flipping hammed today.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

I really do not rate our centre backs, Rose and Green

Enough been said about Green but our centre backs supposedly make up for their chronic lack of pace by being ‘big’ yet we’ve conceded because they’re weak as anythjng

Preston is garbage and teams constantly attack us down the left side because they know he's a weak link. The two centre halves individually are probably ok, but both have no pace and really shouldn't be playing together as a pairing. McKeown's been crap all season and gets far too much slack from supporters because he's been at the club for ages. If he played this poorly and made this many mistakes leading to goals when we were in the conference we'd never have gone up. Hendrie is the only one anything like up to scratch really.

If anyone still thinks that Waterfall and Pollock are a solid pairing they must be off their heads..

Too similar, both go for same ball, forget the second ball, liabilities on the floor and zero communication..

I'd take Macca off now. It's like playing without a keeper.

Teams must love playing us. We are the gift that keeps giving.

It will be a miracle if Hurst keeps us up.

If you think Hurst is dropping Macca then you're going to be let down. Might as well stop saying it because this is the manager who wanted to take him to Shrews at one point.

Creatively he's doing well but he's providing no assistance for Preston defensively. We're very lopsided.

If we’re blaming the keeper for the ineffective left back and centr halves having an inability to mark a man or win a flipping header then we’re simply looking for a scapegoat and ignoring the simple fact Macca has dug us out the excrement more times than anyone in the last ten years....

Nobody wants to single out a player for being excrement but Preston would be better off sat drinking an ale with me in my living room...

Jesus wept. It's depressing.

Let's hope we can sneak one back before half time and not concede again. Go in to HT 2-1 and you never know, especially if Vale's booked player gets another card.

Yeah, OK... I'm clutching at straws as we don't score more than once, if at all.

So we've gone from people comparing L2 football to their experience in Sunday league to comparing it to a game at school with jumpers for goalposts.

The home commentators making out Vale are Real Madrid when all they are is beating a poor side really easily.

Hurst needs reinforcements this coming week.

LOL  Not always true. I played at left back all through my school years. Yes I was the only left footed player in the team BUT it was my choice to play left back. I was up and down that wing whipping crosses in like a modern day wingback......before they were called wingbacks.

Saying that, even with my dodgy knees I could do a better job than Preston today

All this about Green getting no service.... I'm not surprised,  probably because nobody wants to waste a pass to him
We're finished. Morais is decent. Pollock worth a place. If we're building a team for promotion, the rest aren't good enough

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

Those blaming McKeown need to look more closely at the goals again, particularly the second.

On the first one we had THREE players all going for the same ball only to be out jumped by ONE Vale player. Should never have happened. Accept that McKeown could have done better when the ball then dropped.

For the second, it was a powerful header for 6 yards. Straight at him or not there wasn’t much he could do there. Focus instead on the scorer who wandered unmarked into the area for a totally free header.

All out back four currently not strong enough. Add midfield and attack to that and we are in serious sh!t.

Don't think Hurst will have seen anything to change his mind on any of our players. Don't like scapegoating individuals but you only have to look at body language to see we are carrying passengers. The worst thing of all is Vale are garbage as well.

We are desperately bad.
I want to believe Hurst can keep us up but we are dire in all areas.
I know we are supposed to lay off Fenty at the minute, but f()ck it, if we end up going down to the non league AGAIN then it’s criminal. Please never underplay what this Pratt has done to this club.

Regardless of who else made a mistake as well as him, you cannot keep going back to 'Macca has dug us out the excrement more times than anyone in the last ten years'  He has been very poor this season and was DEFINITELY at fault for both goals.

Poor goalkeeper

Poor Defenders

Poor Mid Field

No strikers

Let’s just hope the National League caves in soon.

Look at the difference. They get the ball and break at pace. We end up with it pinging around the back four because we're too slow to take advantage of possession.

Most of this squad want shipping out.

Green and Preston in particular have been a flipping joke

We don't have enough LBs, I wonder if Preston was one of our local lads people would be this harsh on him.

Two managers in a row have consistently started Green so dunno what he's doing in training.

Hurst and Doig must be fuming!!

The silver lining here is it will only cement further to them who isn't good enough!

I said that during the game last week. Give us two or three more crapola performances and itll make Hursts job so much easier for him to get rid of the waste of spaces that we currently employ as trained professional footballers

If anyone still thinks that Waterfall and Pollock are a solid pairing they must be off their heads..

Too similar, both go for same ball, forget the second ball, liabilities on the floor and zero communication..

I've never rated Waterfall. He did okay with Lincoln with much better players around him. Other than that his career has been almost entirely non-league apart from some time at Shrewsbury where he wasn't rated at all. And even in non-league he didn't stand out. He was woeful when up against Podge and Bogle the season we got promoted.

Spot on.  I could put a team together to contain Town.  Maybe wouldn't win but would just tell them to attack and hope GTFC make a mistake - which is likely. Town are predictable and pedestrian.  Not one player will take responsibility.

What ever has happened in the past regarding Macca, being a consistent team player, occasional worldies, his past form is exactly that....in the past. All we are concerned about is the here and now and the today, of which he has been abysmal. I can see why big Sam has been stepping up. A player should not be picked becaiuse of his form last season or longer ago.

Those blaming McKeown need to look more closely at the goals again, particularly the second.

On the first one we had THREE players all going for the same ball only to be out jumped by ONE Vale player. Should never have happened. Accept that McKeown could have done better when the ball then dropped.

For the second, it was a powerful header from 6 yards. Straight at him or not, there wasn’t much he could do there. Focus instead on the scorer who wandered unmarked into the area for a totally free header.

All out back four currently not strong enough. Add midfield and attack to that and we are in serious sh!t.

If you play one striker then that striker has to play the width of the penalty area only. Green constantly drifting out to the touchline makes it so easy for PV.

I always defend Macca but the first goal was an og, he swept the ball into the net with his hand. excrement defending but bad goalkeeping as well.
Second goal the whole team to blame.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Bennett corners a thing of beauty

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Half Time

Galacticos (according to the commentary) 2 Town 0

Other than they all look smart in the same blue kit there was absolutely nothing positive to take from that.

Problem is that we have nobody on the bench who can turn a game round. Maybe Jackson Jnr if they give him free reign, and Habergem, but other than that, they didnt make the starting XI for a reason

I thought Gibson did ok when he came on last week so disappointed not starting today. He puts himself about more than Green, who looks shot as a player.
Clifton and Rose offer nothing and the back line all the way across are shocking
I will be amazed if we don’t go down

We're making Vale look like Brazil and they aren't even trying any more. Zero creativity going forward, abismal defending at the back, have we really got 3 in the center of midfield? You would of thought it was the other way round watching that.

Get Preston, Green, Bennett and any one of the central 3 midfielders off

Get Habergham, Gibson, Jr and Wright on

You could sub any one of them.
Is Hewitt playing?
Back 4 absolutely crap
Bennett can't take a corner.
Green not in it, no passion or fight.
Could go on and on.
We are proper bad.
Its like I've been saying for weeks, get Pollock up front at least he could hold up the ball and win the ball in the air. He's got to be a better option than Green because we have nothing else.

Have been watching with the away commentary option on i follow which is just microphones in the stadium picking up the noise....highlight of the half from the Vale bench ,

"Devante....Devante....are you ok ? "

"Well fking sprint then !!"

Thought we looked bright for the first two minutes, couple of good balls in , on the front foot ,  then just stopped. Defensively we are all over the place, plenty of players back but none of them actually defending , just back.
No passion, no fire, i listened to the Cockers interview last night and boy could we do with someone like him in there today, prepared to grab the game by the scruff of the neck.

I'd bring Habergham, Spokes & Gibson on and take Preston, Waterfall & Rose off. Move Hewitt to centre-back and go 4-4-2. And have Jackson warming up to replace Green early in 2nd half too.

Macca - Thanks for the service but can't catch a cold. Costs us more points than he saves us need to go in the summer.
Preston - Less said the better, would look out of place in Sunday League gets beat all the time, positioning excrement and can't play a 5 yard pass.
Waterfall - Modern day caveman give him a club in his hand and he wouldn't look out of place.
Pollock - Not been his best but probably been carrying the defence most of the season.
Hendrie - Just average not spectacular or not brilliant. Meh?
Rose - Reminds me of Derek Niven no legs whatsoever and don't get what he offers.
Clifton - Runs about like a madman and bags of energy but totally clueless when he has the ball can't lick a pass.
Hewitt - Not a midfielder.
Bennett - Probably might be good if utilised as a footballer instead of just constantly looking for a pass he can't see anyone for.
Morais - 35 year old and probably our best player looks like he can beat a man and deliver.
Green - flipping pitiful and a joke of a man. Looks like he can't get off the floor and I'd be begging to have Greg Pearson back instead of this waste of space.

Pile of dung, as stated at start of thread, team set up not to concede, usual errors of not markling people and chasing the game again. Get 2 strikers (I use the term loosely) on.

Just looking at the half time stats

Shots 6 to 4
Shots on target 4 to 2
Possession 42% to 58%
Passes 147 to 208
Pass accuracy 53% to 68%

and a few other insignificants.

So as usual we are doing all the stuff that we need to do to, and I use the word VERY loosely, dominate the match, but we just have no ability or talent that can put the spherical object into the netted area.....and I dont mean someones vegetable patch in the garden just behind the stands.

God, it's flipping painful watching Town

I haven't been one to jump on the McKeown is shite bandwagon, but he's cost us both goals today, and even that so called great save just before half time was one you'd expect most keepers to make.

Despite how bad we've been, we have had some decent crosses into their box, and I do feel we might nick a goal. Unfortunately we also look like we will concede nearly every time they come forward.

It’s obvious they aren’t good enough and that’s not their fault but at least put some effort in. We’ve had excrement in the past but if they grafted you’d meet them halfway. I can just imagine Green saying...my feet are like blocks of ice

Not surprised Preston gone off. And at least Williams can take a set piece.

George Williams replaces Harry Clifton.

Sam Habergham replaces Danny Preston.

Am I imagining it or did Bennett actually use his LEFT FOOT!!!

Hewitt, a defender playing as a midfielder, busting his balderdash to try and get on the end of a cross there while Green, apparently a striker, saunters around nonchalantly at the far post. Get him off for Jackson Jr asap

Green is unfortunately past it, it dosent look like his even trying.
Dosent jump, his too too slow, cant hold it up and always looks like his going to trip over the ball.

Roll the dice and get Gibson and Jackson on ASAP.

That's it. This is the worst team since the relegation season. No backbone. No clue. And two pony tails on the left side to rub salt in the wound.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Before this season began I posted saying that Green is rubbish and sicknote Hanson is well past his sell by date and that we will barely get any playing time from him and I got absolutely slaughtered on here.

In quiet contemplation, I can sit back and afford a tiny little smile

And done watching. Getting to be an embarrassment now. If we don't get saved by some wacky season being called off and nobody relegated rule and go down maybe people will take the chip off their shoulder and stop acting like we are a huge club at this level.

Wonder if Hurst will stick around for a season in non league if we go down again or he'll run for the hills  .

Hope Hurst can find some players.
I'm afraid non of this squad would get in any other side in this league.

Fenty and Holloway have a lot to answer for.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Green coming off Gibson on. 3-0 down but still only 1 striker on the pitch...

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

Looking at the league and goals against town are going to be well adrift at the bottom if teams above get anything from their games in hand. National league here we come

What I’d give to go back to the last time I saw us play port vale

Ogbu Hanson Green looked like the second coming of Messi Neymar and Suarez

Green far better then on the right - his only stand out performance in a town shirt was then and his wonder goal against Chelsea

Thank you for your service Matt but it’s time to call it a day

We know we are sh1te and need several new players, so until they come in, we won't beat anyone, even the teams at the bottom. I wasn't expecting a win today with what is one of the the worst Town sides I've ever seen.

Even after today, we are not cut adrift from the teams just above us, and there is still half a season to go. Will take the rest of this month to bring in what we need. Don't get me wrong, I'm concerned, but things are not at the desperate stage yet. We still have time to sort things out.

Over my years I have seen a few relegation teams and this is one of them. No shot on target from open play against a team bottom of the form league. Only one way were going. Not as if they have had to work hard to be 3-0 in front. This situation is beyond Hurst I'm afraid. Holloway certainly has cost us!

So when and not if we get relegated will it count on Holloway’s or Hursts official cv, very unfair if Holloway gets away scot free.

The real worry is, who would join a team that is bottom of the football league?  Any signings are going to be people who are available for a reason.

This is the worst side I’ve seen...can’t even blame the fact they’re all pickled like Newell’s side.

We’ve not even laid a glove on Vale. I don’t even blame the players, it’s not their fault they’re terrible.

I think Hurst would be better off telling the players that are leaving now and having them nowhere near the first team .
Play the squad he intends on keeping and make the rest up with youth team players

Just shows with the last attack why we never score.
Good ball into the box by Gibson only one Town player inside the 28 yard box.

If you count the season we should have gone down but we’re saved only by Luton being deducted 30 points or whatever it was this could be the equivalent of 3 relegations into non league....how many non chairmen can claim that.

I've worked out an excuse for us losing.  If you look at the side of the pitch there is a heap of snow then something black.  Obviously, with the Vale strip they are camouflaged.  IH eat your heart out.

I'm pretty sure there is not a single positive that can be taken from this shambles

We’re down - thanks a flipping bunch Fenty you absolute male masturbator

I hate Fenty as much as the next man and naturally he shelves a lot of the blame for our misfortune but Holloway has to take this responsibility, however much bullshit he peddles....

How's he going to bring in decent players
Surely they've got to come from leagues above unless we pay for players already playing. Either way, we don't have the money for them. If Green is paid 2k, we need to double that to get quality in
In fact, 5k a week probably isn't enough to attract the right player
Unless it's loans

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

I think Hurst will have realised he probably can’t trust a fair number of players, but unfortunately you’d have to say that McKeown, Waterfall and Pollock are among them.

How???
Can you honestly see us winning another game this season??
I cant

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

We will win another game but my fear is that however hard Hurst/Doig work and players put effort in, we simply aren’t good enough and it’ll be too late...

With this squad, no, but I have some confidence in Hurst replacing a load of them with some marginally less shite players who might actually be capable of things like defending and scoring goals.

That was pathetic, we had no bite or other than a couple of set pieces. Despite what the home commentators say Port Vale are bang average but they had total control today.

On the basis of today Hurst can bring 6 in I'm not sure we've got currently 5 good enough at the moment to make up a solid 11.

Cant we just play with about 7 players? Surely it would be easier for them to play if they arent having to carry the other 4 wasters.

Can we get Mohsni back? Hes a free agent. He cant be any worse than the spineless wonders we already have, can he?

Two appalling mistakes in the first 20 mins cost us. As much as I like Macca it has to change. When we are so low on confidence, shipping in goals like that means we’re only going one way.......Life is so hard at the moment and we also have to put up with this ffs.

Watching the Cambridge match the "team" appeared to be semi inspired by the PH half time talk. I was looking forward to an improved 1st half today. Unfortunately a bus arrived at vale park with bodies on it proclaiming to be professional footballers.

What transpired was a group of inept men !(I question the word) supposedly trying to represent a football club. Not any old club but our club.

Obviously they were not inspired by any pre match team talk from PH or half time talk, however they may be inspired to attend the job centre. They have to change their job description though as professional footballers they are not, they not members of a team but headless chickens waiting for the abattoir.

Macca was very good but alas his time has come and is now on the wane. 3 guys on the line waiting for the cross and manage to head it in there own net, not the corner but a dam good header in the centre of the goal.

If I had bought any other physical item I would have wanted my money back but I didn't, I paid i follow to watch a match. I follow did not specify the quality so I cannot ask for a refund they provided a match. So Mr Day can you refund all the fans who watched the match on i follow because the club you are chairman of failed in an abysmal manner to provide any type of professional team capable of playing football.

Macca - Needed another week!
Hendrie - Pushed back, unable to get forward
Preston - A boy trying to do a mans job. PV targeted him.
Waterfall - No pace, failed to mark his man.
Pollock - Still makes mistakes, still a lot to learn.
Bennett - On the ball, but did not do a lot with it.
Morais - Marked out of game, unable to get crosses in.
Rose - Went missing today.
Clifton - Needs to be played in the same roll, never gave up but not sure he knows what he is supposed to be doing.
Hewitt - Not a central midfielder!
Green - Well. Does not know how to play as lone forward.

Williams - No impact
Habergham - Needs an extra yard of pace, otherwise better than Preston.
Wright - Did more in his few minutes that the rest of the team did.
Gibson - Still needs to learn a lot.

Paul need to bring at least 6 more !

Let's drop this 'I like Macca/ Greeny/etc. but......'. Being nice gets you nothing. They are not good enough. Hurst saw Green last game and repeated the error. Kept him on! Definition of insanity? Williams on, why?

The threat from Vale was always going to be from crosses and Rose and Hendry were pathetic in allowing the cross. We are setting new standards in defensive errors. Two own goals, backward passing, lack of leadership, little direction from the touchline.
RH still asking about Hanson. People phoning in saying they have faith in Hurst to get new players. Really?

Just listening to PH. Seems Jake Taylors not coming but nobodies leaving! What have is what we have, so I hope I'm wrong, on todays performance we know what we are going to get.

Ph says we have time, half a season to go, I hope he's right. Tilley dropped and Hansen still not fit.

Paul Hurst can only pick what he’s got.
I had thought his assessment of needing 7 or 8 new players was over the top, but considering recent performances he’s probably understated the need.

Presumably Pollock, Hendrie, Wright, Morris are ok
Scannell and Hanson are all about injuries or not, so can’t comment
Bennett and Preston are here to stay for the season.

There are a couple or three fringe players we should keep.
Probably 3 kids will be kept on.

Hopefully our new left back will improve match by match

So it’s over to Paul to get his 6-7 new players. Good luck, and phooey the new owners have deep pockets!

i turned my ifollow off early in the 2nd half, too bad to watch. Macca shouldn,t be captain, we need a central defender as captain to organisem and Macca is about past his sell by date. Waterfall runs out of ideas when hes on the ball, and just hoofs it up to the lone forward who loses possession. Pollack is too slow, maybe better as that lone forward to head the ball to the imaginary attacker. Bennet shouldnt be on the pitch, he never runs, just turns round a few times with the ball, he cant take free kicks or corners, his best ability is putting his right arm up to tell his forwards that this ball can go anywhere. Nothing in these players provides entertainment. Paul Hurst has a real big mountain to climb, and with our position, nobody is wanting to come to a failing Club. The Conference is booked for our name to be added, and its going to take a long time to get back. The failings of previous managers, the terrible additions of players, the lack of moral, the off pitch squabbles, it all leads to the demise of a failing Club. Can i see any future prospect? no, i cant. Its going to be a rocky road from now on, unless miracles are performed this next 6 days to bring in new blood, who will fight for honour, the shirt, the Club. Time will tell, but the time is running out, half a season does seem long, but a winless run will be the dagger that takes us down. I fear for us, i really do.

That’s what I took from it. A player who couldn’t get game time for Scunny doesn’t want to come to us.

Bennett, Hendrie, Habergham and Morais were the only ones who showed they could cut it in League Two today. We need a new keeper, two centre backs, complete central midfield although I do like the look of Spokes. I like Scannell and Wright when they're fit and we haven't got a single forward good enough including Hanson if he's ever going to be fit. The messiah he isn't.

Macca is going downhill rapidly.
Pollock and Waterfall are too similar and too slow. We've conceded the most goals in the league. Mattie needs a break and Waterfall needs binning.
Midfield all tippy tappy 5/10s every week at best. Never going to win you games. Complete lack of bravery with the ball.
Forwards are all National League North/South at best.

Not sure whether three or four of added quality raises the game of others and the team as a whole or we need eight additions. After today, I'm now leaning towards the latter..

Preston is no longer on the pitch and people are still blaming him for everything.

Fair point, and I did correct my error. Missed the sub entirely somehow.

I am embarrassed to be a Grimsby Town supporter right now.
John Fenty this is ALL your fault.
Absolutely heart breaking watching or listening to this each week.
I am praying for a miracle.

I don't understand why Rose and Bennett keep taking corners and free kicks. Why a professional footballer isn't able to kick a ball correctly now and again baffles me

It's shocking.  Fact is that we have a group of players who struggle with the basics. That's why we are so easy to score against, and score so few goals.

This team is lightweight. It's incredible that someone who has been in the game as long as Holloway assembled such a crew.

It's a measure of how poor the squad is that when we list our 'best' players most of us include Hendrie, Waterfall and Pollock. But the fact is that they are basically three quarters of the worst defense in the division. That's how low our standards have sunk.

We have problems all over the pitch, in every department. Basically we need a new team.

My wife said to me, who was that useless player with the dodgy hair cut. I said his name is Bennett, what don't you like about him, she said he just seems to faff about with the ball, never crosses when he should and keeps trying to turn one way or the other with no end result, he can't tackle and his corners are crap.

I said you should have applied for the manager's job.

We are well and truly in it and getting deeper and deeper with escape looking very unlikely. If we get out of it Hurst will deserve to be knighted.
