You can now award a "gold star" to one post a day using a new button next to the existing green tick and red cross. The intention is to be able to vote for your best post of the day.

You are only allowed to award a gold star to one post in a 24-hour period. Once you have used up your nomination you will have to wait for the next day before the opportunity comes up again.

The gold stars will be weighted into the contribution for the existing Post of the Week in addition to the ticks and crosses used currently.

Since when did a forum become a popularity contest??

you post on a forum to discuss/digest/debate/offload on the subject matter - you don’t post with the intention of saying something to be popular, or controversial - you post what you think. Whether people like it or not is irrelevant.

But I can understand the need/thinking too add various things every now and again (devils advocate)

After Ive used my gold star, when I try to green tick/Red Cross it says I’ve already used my daily gold star.

Eemmmmm...Rob, I've noticed a flaw, once you've given a Gold Star you can no longer give a green tick...think it needs a bit of fine tuning bud..
