Hello everyone,
I'm a Huddersfield Town fan and I'm doing some research into former players and trying to contact some of them. For some time I have been trying to get in touch with Brian Hill who of course played for you between 1960 and 1967 before he left to sign for us. I've seen that Brian has been invited back to Grimsby as a guest on a couple of occasions over the past few years. I'm wondering if anyone knew what he was up to these days? Any help in the right direction would be appreciated here.
Good luck for the rest of the season, hope you manage to pull clear off the drop.

I played with Brian for Market Rasen in the mid- seventies when he was player Manager. I know Brian lives in Caistor but I’ve not seen him for around four years now but understand he is having problems with dementia, however, I am not sure how serious this is.
If you pm me I can let you have the last number and home address I have for him.

@onthisGTFCday on Twitter might be the best bet for knowing about Brian Hill. He’s done quite a bit I think to help GTFC fans with dementia with organising video packages for reminiscences at support group sessions. I’m sure I can remember Brian Hill’s name being mentioned.

Brian Hill the referee was the one who refused to give us a penalty when Shaun Cunnington was hacked down in front of the Pontoon when clean through on goal. I'm sure many on here still remember that. I seem to think we were playing Bolton whom we just pipped for promotion at the end of that season.
Brian Hill,,the winger, turned up in the Cons Club a couple of years ago with his pal Caistor Mariner. He was full of beans on that occasion and once he got talking you couldn't get a word in. Nice bloke so hope he's he's still OK.

Saw Brian Hill play many times in the 60's. Good, skilfull winger with an eye for goal. Who could ever forget his hat trick against the Scunts when we won 7-1.

Got talking to him before he drew the half time bonanza couple of years ago. Very nice bloke very friendly. I remember him as a player too, great winger with an eye for goal. I was in the pontoon that game against the scunts. Ray Clemance in goal for them, Hill and Green got hat tricks, Matt Tees the other two.

Matt got one.
Anyone remember the Brian Hill goal from a free kick outside the area at the Osmond end?
Billy Rudd flicked the ball up vertically and Brian volleyed it in. Willy Carr had done a similar thing for Coventry not long before and there had been some debate about whether the ball had travelled its circumference if it was flicked up like that.

Sorry RRFC but the Willie Carr free kick was in 1970 so think Brian was ahead of the game with that goal.

Thanks Lincoln, Brian’s or more correctly Billy’s was not the first. I am sure there was one on MOTD before that. I thought it was Willy Carr but I stand corrected.
