Go to court over the National League not being run properly this season ?

Any suggestions welcome.

Well it's a shame Philip Day wont be around as with his expert knowledge of the legal system I am sure he could put a sound case together.........if he can put forward an argument that defrauding banks is ok then he should have a field day with the way the NL are completing their season.

It could be argued that the national league has no integrity and that they misled the clubs about grants and loans. Then you the bit about clubs having to be solvent, which may be Dovers defence.

Also clubs having cash, which they may use for next season, from the cheap loans they have taken out now. Although their are parachute payments for clubs going down but their will be no cheap loans thus making the parachute payments less of an advantage.

Their are also rumours that some clubs, if going nowhere, may furlough staff to keep the cash and play with juniors/freebies etc., bolstering cash for next season.

It's all a bit of a quagmire but somewhere in that lot a decent lawyer might find a case, with costs shared with the other team that drops down. We can live in hope.

If the national league are having no relegation this year then they should  have no promotion either.

At the moment we have no relationship or contract with the National League, financial or otherwise. Don't see what we could take them to court over - would need to be a club in that league to do that, I'd have thought.

I seem to recall reading a post about it a few week ago. What was said was they had the same situation last year so promotion would go ahead.

Probably not the NL but the EFL for putting us into that league. Clutching at straws like everybody else.

I agree, they are making it up as they go along and calling the shots. If no relegation why promotion? The efl have to act! Fcuk me I’m desperate.

So if the EFL act and say no relegation to the National League, should the EFL stop promotion to league 1?

Going down is a disaster but just imagine we are in the NL and it folds due to 7/8 clubs going bankrupt  and the whole thing disentergrates  How do we get back to the EFL if there is no league ?

Correct it doesn’t. The NL reports in to the FA.

The EFL could always take the moral ground and say we are not letting any of teams drop into such a badly run league as the NL. Clutching straws again!

At the moment the National League looks like it will complete the season without teams having the funding that clubs in the EFL receive so how is it being badly run?

The chairman of Dover definitely thinks so and he resigned from their exec committee. The fact that that they misled teams about grants and loans, their rules refer to solvent clubs yet the NL want them to take on debt.

Well Dover seem to be the only club to stop playing and could it be that they are badly run themselves seeing as they looked certainties for relegation before they stopped playing.

I believe they were solvent, debt free, but ran out of cash and it does make you wonder the state of the finances other clubs are in. I read that about 5 weeks ago Kings Lynn were running out of money and wanted £50K to complete the season. They went fund raising and someone gave then £8/9K. So they may run out of cash before the season ends.

The NL board seem to have gone gung ho without the thought of how covid may affect any club in that league.

Democracy in action aided by the carrot of promotion. At this time 23 clubs in the league and 16 will think they are in with a chance of going up. So 14 deluded chairmen have loaded their clubs up with debt.

Next season those 14 may have severe financial problems caused by a weak league management.

This article sums up the national league. Kings Lynn are furloughing most of their squad to financially survive. This is not a fit and proper league so the EFL shouldn't let any EFL club move into such a set up.

Haha. I would grasp at anything at the minute. Already prepared myself psychologically for the inevitable. Anything other than that would be a pleasant suprise.

Ok didn’t win today, but 6 unbeaten.
Plan B has to be go to Salford and attack. They are wobbling and under new management.
