Just a reminder that Cheltenham won 4-0 yesterday against the team in 4th.

Caught the last 15 mins of EFL on Quest, saw Cheltenham extended highlights. Their main attacking weapon is a very long “ long throw” specialist.  Apparently this has been instrumental in a significant chunk of their goals this year.

I hope PH doesn’t go 3 CB’s to try to counter this, as I think Rollin and Hewitt are as good in the air as anyone, and Hanson or LJL can help in there too

In response to the above query, a main reason WBA won easily at Chelsea was that Chelsea went down to 10 men early on.

When Newport went down to 10 men against us - we lost.

Cheltenham's last 7 games  - W-L-W-L-W-L-W-? , would be nice if we could keep their form chart in that smart sequence for them on Monday.

It's a shame we can't do what FGR did to counter his long throw.

Southend will be demoralised about this defeat. Especially as the 2 teams immediately above them play each other on Monday, so they're going to fall further behind at least 1 of them. We really need to beat Cheltenham on Monday. It would put massive pressure on Southend for their game on Tuesday.

If Barrow beat Col U & we beat Cheltenham the league table will look massively better ahead of Southend having a very difficult away game at Morecambe (5 wins & 1 defeat when they had a first half red card in last 6 home matches)...

21 - Barrow            - P 39 Pts 44
22 - Colchester United - P 40 Pts 40
------------------------------------
23 - Grimsby Town      - P 39 Pts 36
24 - Southend United   - P 39 Pts 35

So wins for us & Barrow would leave us 4 behind Col U with a game in hand & ahead of Southend having played the same amount of matches.

You make it sound so easy Golly!

Did they stamp on him when he was on the ground?

On the dug out side of the pitch they moved their advertising boards forward to the minimum legal distance from the pitch. On the other side they left their pitch covers out partially unfolded. Basically they left no room on either side of the pitch to take any sort of run up to take a throw. Toner didn't even bother trying a single long throw during the entire match as a result.
