Anyone remember the play-off final at Old Trafford a few years ago?   I think between a Peterborough and Huddersfield.  The point being one of the teams had got to the final going more than 30 games unbeaten.   Clear favourites.  They lost 3-0.

Huddersfield drew about 107% of those games though.

A side with the lack of cutting edge of Spain is always very vulnerable against half decent opposition. I think Italy will be very very tough in the final, whoever they play, especially with the extra days rest. I would of thought they would be firm favourites whoever they play but,if its England we'd definitely have a chance as they don't seem as good without spinazolla

I can see it being a tough one. The players want to do it for Christian Eriksen.

Aside from the Eriksen situation, they are a stubborn lot, and will take a very methodical approach to the game.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Glad Italy went through last night, very good side but that Spain side are insane. Their passing is the best I've ever seen, if they just had someone who could score they'd walk this euros in my opinion... But they're out and all eyes are on England toniight. Come on boys!

Rumours coming out that this will be our starting eleven tonight.

Predicted England XI: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; Rice, Phillips; Saka, Mount, Sterling; Kane.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

I'm OK with that. We usually look better with a back 4 and Walker's pace is going to cement his place ahead of Trippier. I suppose that Shaw's crosses from the last game have got him the job for set pieces.

I think Saka's pace will be useful. Foden or Sancho the obvious options to come off the bench for him in the second half as required.

I hope Southgate tells Saka to run at Vestergaard at every opportunity. Even during the anthems.

Do we have to have 2 Keepers on the bench? No Calvert Lewin on the squad.

Bring them both on for pens!! 😏

Johnstone’s got a decent penalty saving record and Pickford could be one of the penalty takers. I very much doubt Southgate would do that though.

We won't need pens, we're going to win before that; footballs coming home.

Edit. Bacon sarnies all round.
