Well that was a non event even by Hursts standards.

Having just listened to Hilo and Hurst on RH who do you think has a plan and can inspire a revival?

Interesting that even if a pure coincidence that Sir Alan picked today to offer his services to the club in any way he could help.

He can only answer the questions put to him, and the interviewer is not doing his job. Why did you start with Khouri? Why drop Crookes? When will McAtee be back and will the board sanction spending money for a striker or players, in general, is what he could have asked,  assuming that was the whole interview.

The other thing that struck me is that Hurst hardly ever mentions tactics; his answers tend to be about confidence or how the group feel - but where is the tactical nous to change games when things are not working?

We are all frustrated so we have to keep things in proportion but he will have to earn his corn now and get us back on track.

Tbf, at start of this run the changes were enforced.
But decisions like Playing Khouri and Revan today are ludicrous, and because of JT’s cowardly journalism, we arent gonna find out why they played!!

JT is a part of the furniture and clearly intends to stay that way.

Hurst has a squad and the only way he finds out about players is playing them
Crookes was not fit last week and for all we know was not 100% yesterday - hence Hurst is entitled to pick someone who is fit
Vast majority of the changes have been enforced - illness, injury - and it is a squad game; it may well turn out our squad is not good enough

I'm sure he doesn't make changes for the sake of it - as he proved during our flying start

In truth, and for whatever reason, several players who were on top form are way below their best at the minute

Sousa, McAtee and Bapaga were a huge goal threat - but one out for few weeks, one is showing he has little end product, the other can't get in the team

Add to this Wright, Scannell and Grant - that's virtually a whole attacking line up either injured or not firing

We need to eke out a win against Southend and see if that sets us off on another good run

But Hurst is being forced to use his squad and not making changes for the sake of it
