Chelsea were written off after losing 1-3 at home to Madrid in the 1st leg but they are certainly giving it a go in the 2nd leg

Latest...Madrid 0-2 Chelsea (3-3 on aggregate)

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Real Madrid lost 0-4 at home to Barca recently so they are vulnerable at home.

Chelsea are doing everything right since far and deserve their 2 goals.

I’m no fan of Chelsea at all, but think that third goal from Alonso should have been given.

Absolutely, the rule makers are ruining the game.

Whatever your opinion of Chelsea, they’ve been robbed here.

Now Real seemingly allowed to just do whatever they want in order to win…

Probably Chelsea are experiencing what clubs like Burnley, Watford Norwich feel like when playing one of the big six in the premiership and hoping that the officials and VAR are neutral.

No surprise that it all kicked off at the end of the Atletico Madrid v City game.

Atletico, the thugs of European football, well done City.

Terrible behaviour.  Atletico should have been reduced by more than 1 red card.  City were accumulating injured players like Saving Private Ryan.  Good for football that City won.

Grealish assaulted in the tunnel after the game by a home player allegedly.  4 police intervened.

The end of that game was as entertaining as yesterday's. Completely different, obviously, but equally compelling!

Atletico are usually described as being master wind up merchants, but tonight they succeeded only in winding themselves up. Atmosphere sounded brilliant though.

I thought it was great Savic dragging Foden off the pitch, his own fault for intentionally rolling back on. I'm sick of all this "gamesmanship" or what used to be called cheating. Atletico were hilarious at times though, like bunch of 5 year olds when they didn't get what they wanted.

Gamesmanship after being deliberately kicked…some would argue it just balanced out. I tell ya now, if we’re 1-0 up in the playoff final and Mcatee does what Foden did we’d be buzzing.

Atleti have done that for years, nobody should be shocked…

And this is why I don't watch football any more, only the highlights of my beloved Grimsby Town.

People moaning about Atleti…weird, it’s not that long ago in England you’d say players deliberately kicking others and the likes or is that different?

They’ve muscled in to be genuine contenders in Spain and broke the dominance of the top two. I’m pretty sure they couldn’t give a intercourse what people think. May be it gets niggly and all a bit petulant but they’re also a great side and their new ground creates an amazing atmosphere…

As much as I hate diving and feigning injury, what Foden did was was well within the boundaries of acceptability given the shìthousery that defines the Atletico game.

If you’re gonna dish out those tactics, don’t complain when others use them against you.

Alonso's was fairly chalked off in the Chelsea match, he controlled the ball with his hand. It wasn't intentional but the slight touch it did get allowed the ball to sit up just right. It's harsh but it was the right decision.

Exactly this, I loved seeing that happen to Atletico because it's always great to see a side like that beaten at their own game. Not just in terms of the shithousery but also in terms of setting up to win 1-0. Great quote from KDB after the first leg when he said something along the lines of "teams often set up very defensively against us, but I think that's the first time I've played against a 5-5-0 formation". Fair play Atletico/Simeone, you've been great at this for a long time now but you've just come up against a better team in brilliant form this time round.

He just becomes the Tinkerman in Europe. Can't help himself.

If they get to the final, we'll probably see De Bruyne and Fernandino playing as wing-backs or something similarly ridiculous.

Don't think I'll ever get bored of watching Grealish call Savic a girl private in a Brummie accent 😄

The strange thing is that Atletico can play when they want to.  They took the game to City in the second half.  Unlucky not to score.  Even before Suarez brought on for more bite up front.

City had one shot on target all game,  a collectors stat for them.

Atletico must attack more in the league.  Only 7th best defensive record.
