They bossed the game first half. Second they tried to slow the game down and hold on to what they had. After the equaliser they still tried to slow the game down as if they had settled for a point. After our second they suddenly started to play again but we defended brilliantly and hit them on the break. Never seen a goalkeeper speed up so much after the second ! They looked a different class first half, we couldn't get hold of the ball. At the end of the day the sending off made them change their game plan, thankfully. Waterfall and Smith were outstanding along the the two full backs. McAtee and Taylor seem to have a telepathic understand, which led to the equaliser.

While they they had 11 blokes on the pitch they were the best side I've seen at BP for a long while. Second half we started to keep the ball a lot better and made that pay in the end. Thought Taylor did well to stand up to two very good CBs, McAtee came on well in the second half, Scannell was my mom, experience, cool head and a bit of skill chucked in. Jones disappointed me, he was spot on v Chesterfield but seemed to be waiting for things to happen and when he did get the ball he was shocking. Having said that he was part of a side that didn't give in and gave everything they had. Crowd were fantastic, sometimes very quiet at home, not today. BP was rocking. UTM

| In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD |

Hope they go on and win the league. I wouldn't fancy having to beat them again to go up.

Shout out for the referee today. For a side who were so dominant in the first half to come off with 4 yellows and a red in a league where refs usually let so much go particularly for the top sides. We could have no complaints today thought he was excellent.

First half, thought they were as good as anything I’d seen all season. Maybe even last season too. Knocked it about well, suffocated us well, we had no time on the ball on the rare occasions we did get it.
Even at the time, the decision to take Quigley off looked strange. I watched him quite closely in the first half and his movement, control and quality were just a cut or two above this level. Waterfall normally finds a way to deal with non league forwards but it was a real struggle for him. Fair to say, if the situation was reversed, Hursty would’ve got slaughtered if he’d done that.
I felt the red looked harsh at real speed, as Hursty said it was a split second away from their lad getting there and Efete being in bother. I’d have been upset had we had a man sent off for that. No doubt it changed the game though, although not straight away, they finished the first half as if nothing had happened.
Also, must say it looked a stonewall pen 10 mins in from the main stand. Waterfall clean through the back of him and didn’t get much of the ball. Two big calls have gone in our favour today.
Second half, they dropped off and it was a reverse of the first half, we penned them in well and wore them down to some extent. I thought McAtee had been ordinary but would be a contender for MOM on his last half hour’s performance, goal was real quality and he drove us forward well. Second goal was also well worked, we should exploit Waterfall at the back post heading it back across goal more.
In the end it was quite comfortable, other than the goal, Crocombe hasn’t had a save to make.
Thought Scannell was excellent. He was the only thing that resembled a threat in the first half and it wasn’t like he was blowing come full time. He bust a gut to make the box in the 93rd minute when JMD was busy taking the ball to the corner!
Knowing us, we’ll now lose 1-0 at King’s Lynn to a dodgy pen, but I can’t be doing with negativity tonight.

First half we couldn't string two passes together, they were faster and stronger than us all over the park
Almost had a heart attack when Waterfall slid in, my view was obstructed so I didn't see if he got the ball or not
Second half we were much better, Scannel was brilliant. JMD changed the game when he came on
The crowd was excellent in the second half, what a result

They looked decent and we really struggled first half both with them and the wind. Quigley was terrorising us and I was amazed to see him go off. I’m not sure they’d have run away with it if they’d still have had 11 because I’m sure a change was coming at half time.
Patient and ruthless in the 2nd half.

Had they not had a man sent off and decided to go defensive to hold on at 1:0 in the second half might have been a different game. Very hard team to play against but it was an impressive fight back in the second half from us and a great crowd today. Glad to win but hope we don't play them again this season as they are by far the best team in this league currently.
Let's not botch it as King's Lynn like we did at Weymouth, that should be the last tough game we have until the playoffs.
