In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Good. Nothing to see here, McAtee's bang average. Move along, cheers. Waterfall definitely deserves to be in there, not sure about JMD and Efete though.

Some good players in the CM category, Sbarra and Davies have looked quality when I've seen them.

Are these the 'real' awards, or just some poorly selected nominations a blog has cobbled together? (must be a shite blog if they've managed to miss McAtee off from every category)

I think it's understandable that McAtee gets overlooked by the casual observer. For your average fan in League Two for instance who might be scanning the National League top scorers list to identify potential targets, McAtee's name doesn't exactly jump out at you in joint 14th place and behind players from Barnet, Maidenhead and three from Woking.

Of course, that doesn't tell the whole story and I don't expect that he's been missed by scouts from a level or two above; he's still only 22 let's not forget. Don't be surprised if we see concrete interest in him in the summer. Given the curse that seems attached to the title, may I take this opportunity to put forward Joel Grant for player of the season?

You know you've got a pretty good team when fans suggest a player that's already left the club for the doomed Player of the Year Award!
