The "old" Blundell Park, with the Barratts stand. It would have been called off today given the state of the pitch.

I was at that game but didn't remember those misses - were worse than KL! Whymark, Drinkell and Wiggy missing absolute sitters...

Not many away fans - a few hundred in the Osmond corner. Blackburn weren’t any better supported than Town until Jack Walker took over.

That game when we destroyed them 5–0 in 1982, I just knew it was on a Tuesday night, I can remember my dad coming home from the match and talking about it, I would have been 7.

Yeh when I was a kid, I always used to look at the gates in the 80s, off the top of my head, I remember Crystal Palace, Blackburn and Cardiff used to get similar gates to Town back then.

That was the first home game after the battle of Cleethorpes with Leeds. Was living with my granny in Brigg - she didn’t want me to go to watch Town after that with all the headlines after Leeds. As it happened I went to the first 11 games of that season and had to avoid bits of trouble at every away game. I had to defend myself against 2 Wednesday fans in a Sheffield chippy - the old Brigg martial arts trick of shoving your chips and curry in the face of your assailant and legging it…
