Strongest team I think.
Come on Town

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Subscribed to BT sport and got it set up on the projector, just rewatching ryan reynolds celebrate an offside goal

Interesting to see sousa back in, I know a few on here were calling for it, imagine if he lives up to his potential now

Well I did not see Coke making it into the 16. That's definitely a case of Jones playing his way ot the team, rather than Coke playing his way into it.

Anything from here is a bonus as far as I am concerned, didn't even look like we would make the play-offs a few weeks ago.

Hyping up Kyle Wootton mostly, out of contract in a month, maybe after we beat them we can start talks with him. He might fancy a bigger club nearby in L2 if he can't drag this team to a playoff win.

Can't see from where I am sat to see if they are actually there but since Covid the commentator's don't actually attend the game, they comment on a live feed to a studio somewhere.

Notts are trying to play ‘Holloway’ style passing it out from the back. We’re pressing high and they have already forced a few mistakes. Shows Hursty has done his homework too.

Just hope we have the fitness to keep pressing them.

Ref looks like he’s a homer, just let them take a quick free kick whilst he was looking in the other direction 🤦🏻‍♂️

Shame Chris Hargreaves isn't working for BT Sport anymore to give it a bit of balance.

They record all the biometric data, heart rates, dustance covered etc

Ref making decisions weighted towards the home side and the biased commentary is really doing my head in. Goes through the back of Sousa and no foul, commentary call it a great tackle lol. As soon as  any of their players falls on the ball they get a free kick.

Ref making decisions weighted towards the home side and the biased commentary is really doing my head in. Goes through the back of Sousa and no foul, commentary call it a great tackle lol. As soon as  any of their players falls on the ball they get a free kick.

This commentary is horrendous. You’d think we’d snuck in with Chesterfield’s form to play against Juventus.

Brilliant play by Fox at the back there to slip their player.

Can’t they afford stripes on the back?

(BT:  A fair challenge on Sousa.  That is a yellow card given then).

Ref couldn't wait to book a Grimsby player to make up for upsetting the home team and BT. Note the tackle was less of a foul than going through the back of somebody but BT felt that Clifton's was an obvious foul and the other was a fair tackle. Taylor getting shoved all over and getting nothing from this ref.

I imagine Hurst will be happier going in at half time, been a rough half for Notts even if we couldn't turn pressure into goals as the quality in the box hasn't been there yet. Not sure why Clifton took it off Holohan's chest at the end there looked like he was going to burst into the box.

After seeing it for the second time I'd almost say it's a red on Sousa. Clifton was never a yellow.

Final ball needs to be better, especially from Amos as everything seems to be coming from his side.

Fox has been excellent, Holohan is still missing a yard or two, shame we can't add Raikhy to the midfield second half.  Pretty even game in terms of chances, we look quite composed which I wasn't expecting as we tend to start slow.

Maybe the BT commentators are watching a different game to me.

Our final touch a bit poor, to many over the bar, hence stop leaning back.

Deffo ontop just need a bit of luck.

Great effort from the lads.

Some of our play in the final third has been comedic.

Cropper and Amos managed to involuntarily kick the ball with their standing foot twice in the space of a couple of minutes.

One of our mis-hit crosses is definitely going to drop to McAtee in the second half.

Amos has had a poor game with his crossing and passing really stood out (apart from the one forbthe header) but town have looked really good. Harder for them to make changes too when used a sub already and extra time potentially, but if they do Hurst needs to react if it changes the match as that in game management is his achillles heel. You've got to say he's set us up very well to counter their starting 11 and we've been the better team.

I think he will wait  a while before bringing JMD on. The press we are applying is why we are on top and JMD just hasnt got the fitness for it. I wouldn't fancy our chances if we brought JMD on early and it then went to extra time.

Yep. Sousa, Holohan and Amos all far from their best, though they are all working hard. I'm surprised how they've just stood off us so much and we've not really been pressed in possession at all.

Just a concern that they've offered so little but missed the best chance. We could do with that Rodrigues going off as well as he has caused the odd issue for us.

Better crossing please, Town!

Souse gets caught on the ball a few times.  He dribbles into players.  We lose possession and they break.

We are clearly the better team, on and off the pitch.  We seem to want it more.  Just the final third.

(Wrexham would not be happy to be playing us).

All came from a free kick Taylor gave away for intercourse all.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

terrible refereeing, gives Taylor a harsh yellow card, ignores them fouling our defender then gives them a pen. I'd be petitioning for that ref to never officiate a game ever again. Also fudge this commentary so biased

Kind of our own worst enemy really, ref aside we've had chances we could have taken and didn't finish off. if this all comes down to a handball it'll be hard to take because we've dominated for long periods and had chances we fluffed.

It's not the ref's fault we have hardly made their keeper make a save.

I just can't understand Hurst not making a change, Sousa has been poor plus we need another forward on.

It's Hurst, he has a sub phobia and will rarely make any before 82 minutes unless he has to.

Better side by miles but at the end of the day their keeper hasn't had to make a single save.

All too familiar tale from earlier in the season, better team, lack of quality in the final third ultimately costs us in spite of possession and endeavour.

We definitely miss efete and cropper/Amos aren’t really being as effective as what we need.

10
Mins or so to sort this out.

I guess this confirms what we all knew we have tons of unity, heart, desire, work ethic and attitude but we just lack a couple of players in attack with real quality. It will come next season I’m 100% sure of that.

Definitely a push on Clifton in the box, ref not giving it of course as the game has gone for us. We keep giving the ball away now too so basically handing them the chance to time waste.

Ultimately, crossing and passing in the final third hasn't been good enough. As has been the case most of the time during the season.

Also not really sure where Holohan fits into this team. Not technically great and needs to be getting into the box if he's going to be effective.

Every cross is just catching practice at this point. When we needed a performance and some quality from this team they have not delivered tonight, it's one game they really had to be at their best and they really have not been. If we lose this the players only have themselves to blame for not stepping up and delivering.

I know we’ve scored but how was that not a penalty for the push on Clifton?!

And how can Adam Virgo say Clifton made the most of ‘two hands in his back’. He pushed him over, just inside the box.

The Clifton incident earlier was never a pen but that was!!

Commentary has been biased as all the coverage of this game has been towards Notts County, makes me sick tbh that they have not been neutral in the slightest.

This back 3 has me worried, Notts are trying to overwelme the flanks and its drawing them out of position

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I once said Gazza's IQ was less than his shirt number and he asked me: What's an IQ? - George Best

BT coverage very “un man of the match”.  Biased, uninformed and repetitive. Amateur night.:

Shocking coverage by BT Sport, couldn't even show the full replay of our goal, decided to cut off to show the County players standing around.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Fox is dead on his feet. He'd have been off by now if it hadn't been for Holohan's injury, I reckon.

Screw BT and their one sided coverage, can't wait for how much behind kissing they do for Wrexham at the weekend.

Get in M'ducks.

I'd like to think that I'm a fair fan and say what I see, but I'm over the moon to ram it up those commentators, the biased, blind fookers.

They have lost three home games all season and we have won two of them.

Says Desi scored the winner?

Fox MotM by a country mile. Sign him up again now! Didn't put a foot wrong all game.

Everyone put in a real shift and Sousa improved a lot after the first half as well.

My concern is that it looks to me that McAtee and Holohan will be out injured at Wrexham at the very least. Looked more than cramp for McAtee and a tweaked muscle for Holohan is likely to be a couple of weeks at least. Is Raikhy likely to be fit enough to start a game yet?

Who to play up front, alongside Taylor? Abrahams with Dieseruvwe on the bench as a super sub?

If he's offside it's by an inch. As it is, I think the defender's left boot is playing him on. Not sure why they're banging on about it so much!

Burns actually sounds disappointed we won, some have said he used to be a town fan, but he is disguising it well, think he needs to stick to the  taargers, utter  knobsack

If he's offside it's by an inch. As it is, I think the defender's left boot is playing him on. Not sure why they're banging on about it so much!

Because Grimsby Town were not supposed to win, foillow the script, man!

We have exceeded reasonable expectations this season.  A free hit from now on.

Have there ever been 4 last min goals in 3 games between the same 2 teams in the same season?

Oh, and 3 of them by us? 😁😁😁

Never offside, you can see the defender's foot poking out. Such shite commentary and punditry, with the exception of MacLean

The fact they wouldn't accept that the push on Clifton was about two feet inside the box was laughable. Wasn't even a question of where he was when he was pushed. The worst commentary I've heard in a long time. Why they were waxing lyrical about such an average team is beyond me.

Must be said that I like McLean who has been the only one on our side in the punditry stakes!

Not at the start he wasn’t.

Great win for the club, players and most importantly the supporters who where the only ones you could hear all night.

No pressure on us for Saturday, heaps on the hosts.

Congrats to PH and the boys tonight.

Well done to the 2000 town army that made it sound like 5000

Thankyou JS and AP, and all of 1878 for getting the club back

And finally

A mention to our former owner, you must be turning on your sunbed/snooker table at this. Well you know what…….I hope you have to swollow your self pity for at least another 2 weeks

On Sat BT Sports can talk about that IF Wrexham get to he final on 5 June then the game clashes with Wales at home in their World Cup shoot-out with Scotland or Ukraine.

Given the Hollywood connections, and Madden being a top striker, we will not get a look-in in the pre-match waffle.

A brilliant performance from start to finish and a thoroughly deserved victory. Thought we defended very well and Crocombe’s handling was very assured. Fox MOTM and the quality of the set pieces went up a level when JMD came on, which resulted in the 2 goals.

Fantastic comeback, can't say we didn't deserve it over the 120 minutes as we were the side on the front for most of it but just lacked quality.

Fox was immense and Waterfall also very good. Love a late goal this season don't we!

The best team won tonight.

I bet Wrexham fans watching that until the 95th minute must have thought it was almost a gimme to see off Notts at the weekend. They were easily second best and I think Wrexham would have had a field day against them.

I think they will be rather more worried now,

Best game I have EVER been to in 31 years of following Grimsby Town.
Including three wins at Wembley, beating Scunthorpe or Lincoln!
Just an incredible night.
Will be feeling shell shocked for sometime!

County we’re lucky to get one. Should’ve been our free kick just before their pen.

BT Sports were so fricking biased. We were clearly the best team for most of the two hours. Stuff them.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

BBC online text comments say “Grimsby goal, end of normal time”.  “Grimsby goal, end of extra-time, full-time”.

Gets monotonous these last min equalisers and then winners! 😁😁

Really think the lack of pressure coz its our first season down and the being away from home is actually working in our favour, paul hurst was right, just make that first 20 minutes difficult and the crowd start to worry
