Thought he was excellent in goal again today, great save at 0-0 and took all the high balls to lift the pressure of the defence well done.

His collection of the ball from crosses was very good today and seemed to take command of his area and he just seems to improve every game. Confidence plays he huge part in his performances and he pulled off a couple of great saves.

Dead Eye Dobbin stood motionless waiting, waiting, waiting for the ball to arrive. Back came the right foot, Down came the right foot, Bang ! Headlines around the world as the ball flew into the very top right hand corner of the goal.( Jim Dobbin scoring in the 89th minute for Town against Newcastle United away 24/10/1992 )

Thought he was superb. Love Macca and all he’s given, but Crocombe the rightful number 1 now.

I think the turning point of the season within hindsight was putting him in goal - had been a long time due.  Excellent half season.   Didn't bring immediate benefits, but he plays much higher up the pitch (like a low league Neuer)

Pure sh1thousery of the finest levels.   Ramos would have been proud of that.  How can a GK get cramp?  Solihill must have been going nuts

Fancy a keeper getting cramp?! Love it. No running required.

Macca has been a tremendous servant and in his pomp is an unbelievable shot stopper. Max however has come in and been a so much better all rounder with his speed and accuracy of distribution and his claiming of crosses. He hadn't shown the shot stopping levels of macca but wow, in this playoff run he certainly has and another fantastic save today to go with his dealing with crosses and good distribution.

Plus top timewasting like macca too hahaha!

Must have a strong claim to be kept as no 1 next season. What a turnaround its been for him from reserve keeper. Well done max.

Agree with all the above but a lot of credit must also go to Sam Russell.

The save from the deflection was incredible. Could he force his way back into the New Zealand squad? They're due a play off game for world cup qualification but checking his wiki just now he hasn't played for them in 5 years or so.

will do another thread on this.Yes, he's improved massively from Daggers away n has been so good in these 3 play off games; but the keeper for a team challenging for div 2 play offs , im not so sure......

(and to provide some balance i'm friends with, and  a relative to , a couple of his former team mates who say he's a great guy and are really rooting for him)

Dropping McKeown was a brave decision but proved to be a fantastic move by Hurst, and nobody can argue with it now. Even McKeown!

He was fantastic today. That save in the first half when it took a wicked deflection was world class.

The good thing about having Macca as a number two is he’s capable , loyal and loves the Town and club .
When the time does come for him to hang his boots up I’m sure they’ll find him a job somewhere at the club

I disagree tbh it was a easy decision he’d been below par for awhile and change was needed and fortunately max as delivered big time

Got all the time in the world for Macca, and hope he's looked after, a one of not so many Legends in recent times.

Crocombe has come on so much in the 2nd half of the season.
I remember his first 7-10 games, people were still calling for Macca as he wasn't doing great.

Fox & McAtee will rightly get the shouts over the play-offs, but Crocombe for me, was the best player over the 3 games.
Some great saves against Wrexham, and if that save yesterday was in the top division, it would be shouted about for ages.
The deflection, made it almost impossible to save.... freakily good save

Crocombe was superb yesterday. Not just that brilliant save he made but on more than one occasion he was calm enough to come and collect a high ball with a safe pair of hands.

I was a bit unsure about him earlier in the season but I'd say that he's been one of our best players in these last 3 games.
